Now, it seems the universe has heard my prayers and combined them into one mouthwatering union!
Krispy Kreme is giving away a complimentary Original Glazed donut to customers who take part, as they commemorate their partnership with McDonald’s.
By March 2024, Guillaume Huin, the top marketing executive at McDonald’s, revealed on Twitter that they plan to start offering Krispy Kreme donuts across all regions of the U.S. by the close of 2026.
The collaboration features the Iconic Original Glazed, the Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, and the Chocolate Iced Kreme. Once the rollout begins, customers can buy individual or boxes of six donuts.
By the end of 2026, McDonald’s is set to offer three popular Krispy Kreme doughnuts across the nation: the Original Glazed, the Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, and the Chocolate Iced Kreme. Starting from this coming Tuesday, October 15, McDonald’s restaurants in Chicago, Illinois will begin selling Krispy Kreme donuts as part of their ongoing collaboration which aims to expand across the country over the next two years.
To mark the launch, Krispy Kreme is giving away one Original Glazed doughnut for free from October 10th to the 14th. However, to receive this complimentary sweet, customers must present a McDonald’s bill showing a purchase made between those same dates at any Krispy Kreme outlet.
Both paper and digital receipts are valid for the deal, which caps at one free donut per visit.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled about the upcoming collaboration between Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s, with the former expected to be rolled out in a grand 1,000 McDonald’s locations by year-end. In a recent announcement, Josh Charlesworth, our esteemed leader at Krispy Kreme, shared his thoughts on this exciting venture.
As a passionate gamer, I’d put it like this: “Fellow doughnut lovers, the one thing you all ask for the most is easier access to our mouth-watering, freshly made doughnuts,” Charlesworth shared. “And now, that dream comes true with Krispy Kreme doughnuts available at McDonald’s! To celebrate this sweet collaboration, we’re treating those who visit a McDonald’s as well to a free Original Glazed doughnut – enjoy the taste of golden goodness!
Even though customers in Chicago get early access to their collaboration, Krispy Kreme intends to extend its reach to approximately 12,000 McDonald’s locations nationwide by the year 2026.
Currently, customers have the opportunity to savor a complimentary Original Glazed donut as long as the offer persists. Alternatively, customers can sample Krispy Kreme’s Harvest Collection, which will be available up to November 28.
