As a longtime Star Trek enthusiast and someone who has spent countless hours navigating the final frontier in various incarnations of this iconic franchise, I must say that the trailer for the fifth and final season of “Star Trek: Lower Decks” has me more excited than a Ferengi at the auction block!
As a die-hard Star Trek fan, I’m thrilled to share that the curtain is finally rising on the fifth and concluding season of the hilarious animated series “Star Trek: Lower Decks.” The first two episodes will make their grand entrance on my screen (and yours) on Thursday, October 24, only on Paramount+ streaming platform.
Each Thursday, starting from the premiere date, CBS Studios will roll out a new episode from their 10-episode season all the way until December 19th.
This space-faring team on board the U.S.S. Cerritos needs to fix all “cosmic fissures,” which are rips in subspace causing turmoil across the Alpha Quadrant. Alongside their continuous diplomatic issues, they’ve got quite a lot on their hands. Junior officers Mariner, Boimer, Tendui, and Rutherford are juggling an Orion conflict, enraged Klingons, diplomatic disasters, murder investigations, personal goals, and more. The “Star Trek” universe is thriving under Alex Kurtzman’s guidance at Paramount. Although “Lower Decks” has concluded, there’s the third season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” coming up, along with the upcoming series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.” Additionally, a new original streaming film titled “Star Trek: Section 31,” featuring Michelle Yeoh, is set to release in 2025.
Star Trek: Lower Decks” can only be streamed in the U.S. and Latin America on Paramount+, and it’s distributed globally by Paramount Global Content Distribution. This show is produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions, the animation division of CBS Studios, along with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. The executive producers include Alex Kurtzman, Mike McMahan, Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth. Titmouse, a renowned independent animation studio that has won Emmy Awards, handles the animation for this series.
