Alicia Silverstone to Star in Acorn TV Series ‘Irish Blood’

As a long-time fan of Alicia Silverstone since her iconic role in “Clueless,” I am absolutely thrilled to see her embarking on this new journey with “Irish Blood.” Her versatility as an actress, proven through her diverse roles in films like “The Crush” and “Batman & Robin,” makes her the perfect choice for the complex character of Fiona Sharpe.

Filming for the series is currently taking place in Dublin and its surroundings. The series will be composed of six, one-hour long episodes. In addition to Silverstone, the cast features Wendy Crewson, Jason O’Mara, Dearbhla Molloy, Simone Kirby, Ruth Codd, and Leonardo Taiwo.

‘Irish Blood’ narrates a woman’s journey of self-discovery and facing her history following an unforeseen trip overseas,” Silverstone expressed. “I adore the sense of spontaneity in the storyline and the blend of emotional turmoil, comedic moments, and nail-biting tension my character encounters.

Fiona Sharpe, a high-profile divorce attorney in LA, is played by Silverstone. She’s thrust into an enigma when she gets a letter from her long-lost father, prompting her to investigate the circumstances surrounding his vanishing act.

Fiona’s life journey is marked by her father, Declan, who apparently left her and her mother on her tenth birthday. For years, Fiona has channeled her anger towards him, using it to help her clients win lawsuits. However, a message from her father sends her to Ireland, where she uncovers the truth about her father and discovers a family that was never aware of her existence. Moreover, the story of abandonment that has defined Fiona’s life is revealed as a lie, intended to protect her and her mother from Declan’s questionable business dealings. Determined to learn the complete truth about her father and reconnect with him, Fiona sets out on a journey to Ireland.

This television show was developed by the team of writers which includes Aaron Martin, Christina Ray, Mike O’Leary, and John Krizanc. Executive producers are Christina Jennings, Scott Garvie, Paul Donovan, Ailish McElmeel, Aaron Martin, Christina Ray, Silverstone, Molly McGlynn, while Paige Haight and Catherine McGee serve as regular producers. The series is helmed by director Molly McGlynn.
