Dandadan anime has one hilarious similarity with One Piece

As a longtime fan who has watched countless hours of anime, I must say that the similarity between Momo Ayase’s walk in Dandadan and Donquixote Doflamingo from One Piece is quite uncanny! It took me back to Episode 151, where Doflamingo’s unique stride was a staple of his character.

Fans of One Piece are puzzling over a particular moment in the Dandadan anime, as it has sparked comparisons to one of their beloved characters.

Among this year’s animes, Dandadan has garnered significant popularity, as evidenced by its highly-watched debut episode. The response from viewers has been positive, and luckily, there are still 11 additional episodes left for us to enjoy.

The narrative revolves around Momo Ayase and her classmate Takakura. Momo is convinced that ghosts exist, whereas Takakura, who’s skeptical about the supernatural, insists aliens are real. To settle their beliefs, they place a wager, leading to a series of humorous incidents.

Fans of One Piece now have an additional incentive to watch the latest anime, as they’ve discovered a humorous resemblance that has caught their attention.

Viewers have noticed that Momo’s gait in the initial episode bears a striking resemblance to Donquixote Doflamingo, a highly recognized villain from One Piece. In Episode 151, we see him strolling alongside Kuma in an unusual manner.

By coincidence, one of the primary characters in Dandadan, Momo, shares a similar walking style, which has piqued the interest of anime enthusiasts.

However, while the scene is indeed similar to One Piece, one fan explained the real reason behind it, “That walk is actually derivative of the Japanese delinquent aesthetic. Pretty much every bully/punk character walks like this. Pretty famously Jotaro Kujo and Ryuji Yamazaki.”

Another wrote, “That walk is iconic! Totally gives off those vibes.”

“One of the greatest walks in anime history,” a third added.
