As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that the announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro has stirred quite a mix of emotions within me. On one hand, the thought of a more powerful console is exhilarating, promising smoother gameplay and jaw-dropping visuals. On the other, the memory of my humble beginnings with the original PlayStation still lingers, reminding me that gaming was once an affordable hobby.
Preorders for the PlayStation 5 Pro are now live at Target. Starting today (October 10), major retailers like Amazon and Best Buy will also start accepting preorders. The PS5 Pro is priced at $700 and will be released on November 7, which is the same day as the new Chroma Collection DualSense controllers and console covers hit the market.
Apart from the PS5 Pro, you can also pre-order another version of the PlayStation 5 today at leading stores. Specifically, starting at 7 AM Pacific Time or 10 AM Eastern Time, you can place your order for the PS5 Slim Digital Anniversary Edition.
The PS5 Pro is a console that operates digitally only, but it can utilize an additional disc drive attachment, sold by PlayStation last year for around $80. If you’d rather stand your console upright, you’ll have to purchase the optional vertical stand for approximately $30. In total, you might end up spending about $820, depending on your local tax rate.
