Destiny 2’s Street Fighter collaboration leaked following Revenant update

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the upcoming Destiny 2 x Street Fighter collaboration has me all fired up! I remember the days when I used to spend countless hours mastering Ryu’s Hadouken and Chun-Li’s Spinning Bird Kick in the arcade.

Information about Destiny 2’s upcoming collaboration with Street Fighter has been prematurely revealed, as dataminers have discovered evidence of Street Fighter-themed equipment headed for Bungie’s hit loot shooter game.

Following much excitement, the Episode Revenant officially launched on October 8, introducing an abundance of fresh content into Destiny 2 and making numerous adjustments to its fundamental mechanics. This update is bursting at the seams, more so considering the new Vesper Dungeon that’s about to unfold as well.

However, delving deeper than the contents of the update, keen observers known as dataminers have already discovered hints about future events. Immediately diving into the game’s data after the latest patch was applied, these detectives have leaked information about another significant collaboration that is on the horizon.

Building upon the successes of Mass Effect, The Last of Us, and Ghostbusters, the upcoming crossover event promises to incorporate Street Fighter into the action. Capcom’s iconic fighting game franchise, easily recognized by fans worldwide, is set to make an appearance through leaked details such as masks, ghostly shells, and other elements centered around its beloved characters.

Leaked Street Fighter gear coming to Destiny 2

In typical fashion for series blends like this, Guardians will find themselves with an assortment of distinctive Street Fighter-themed cosmetic items at their disposal.

Initially, there were three unique Ghost Shells unveiled, each modeled after a different character from the famous fighting game’s roster. The Delta Red Ghost Shell resembles Cammy, the Ansatsuken Ghost Shell takes on the appearance of Ryu, and the Kung Fu Ghost Shell is undeniably Chun-Li.

In addition to controlling your Ghost character, it seems players will also get the chance to don a Blanka mask on their helmets. This mask was found in the data mine and is said to retail for 800 Silver and be usable across all three classes in Destiny 2.

Although these details don’t significantly enhance combat abilities, the leaks did disclose the names of three upcoming Finishers that will add a dynamic flair to your gameplay. The iconic Hadouken, Lightning Kick, and Spinning Bird Kicks have been hinted as potential new moves for the Finisher list.

Rounding out the set is an Emblem themed around Street Fighter. The ‘World Warrior’ emblem has ‘KO’ emblazoned over it with a graffiti-esque design giving off Street Fighter 6 visuals.

Below is a quicker look at everything leaked for the Street Fighter crossover in Destiny 2:

  • Blanka Mask – 800 Silver (usable across all three classes)
  • 3 Finishers – Hadouken, Lightning Kick, and Spinning Bird Kick
  • 3 Ghost Shells – Delta Red Ghost (Cammy), Ansatsuken Ghost Shell (Ryu), Kung Fu Ghost Shell (Chun-Li)

Is there a date for the Street Fighter collab?

Currently, we don’t have a specific date for when the Street Fighter equipment will be activated in Destiny 2. Bungie has remained silent about these rumors, so it’s unknown when the developers intend to make the entire collection available in the game.

Since the Revenant update encompasses everything, we can expect that the waiting period won’t be extensive. Rest assured, we’ll keep you posted with any new developments as they unfold over the next few days right here.
