As a lifelong fan and admirer of Mark Zuckerberg, it’s fascinating to see him express his passion for Civilization and consider streaming his gameplay. His dedication to the game since middle school, which even led him to become an engineer, is truly inspiring. It’s not every day we hear about a CEO who’s so deeply invested in a video game that he dreams of becoming a grandmaster!
It’s possible that Mark Zuckerberg is edging closer to setting up a Twitch channel, with his love for the strategy game, Civilization, being a significant factor in this development.
Mark Zuckerberg caught up with Pubity in late September at Meta’s annual Connect event in Menlo Park, California. There, the Meta CEO spoke about creating a Twitch channel to stream his favorite game, Civilization.
Priscilla recently checked out my Steam account and exclaimed, ‘Wow, you’ve spent over a thousand hours on this game!’ Zuckerberg remarked. Regarding strategy games, he admitted that he aspires to excel at nothing less than being the best globally in Civilization.
“I believe it might be time for me to start a live stream on Twitch, where I play games with someone else. I’m quite confident that my skills are near grandmaster level, and I can’t imagine anyone else out there being able to beat me at those games.
Zuckerberg has been playing Civilization as early as middle school and was inspired to become an engineer because of the game. During a speech from earlier in his career, Zuckerberg said he was even playing the strategy game when he received his acceptance email from Harvard.
Can anyone recall specifically their location and activities at the moment they received the email confirming their acceptance to Harvard? He shared that he was engrossed in the video game Civilization at the time.
1991 saw the creation of the strategy game Civilization, a masterpiece designed by Sid Meier and Bruce Shelley. As stated on the game’s official site, the objective of Civilization is to lead a civilization through historical periods and construct an enduring empire.
Furthermore, “Players take on the persona of renowned historical figures, handling all significant economic, political, and military choices while navigating various routes to success.
The seventh version of the game, which was initially released with six variants, will be launched on February 11, 2025.
Though Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t have a Twitch channel right now, maybe the imminent launch of his most-anticipated game could spark the real-life stream he hinted at.
Should Zuckerberg establish a Twitch account, he’ll find himself among well-known streamers such as Kai Cenat, xQc, Pokimane, TommyInnit, and others.
Simultaneously, Zuckerberg’s competitor, Elon Musk, is garnering millions of views as he livestreams Diablo 4 on X platform.
