TFT patch 14.20 notes: Let ’em Cook reworked, massive QoL changes, Eldritch buffs & more

As a seasoned League of Legends veteran with over a decade under my belt, I must say that these changes are truly a breath of fresh air. The revamp of the carousel items and champions associated with them is intriguing. It’s like Riot Games has decided to shake things up a bit, adding an element of surprise back into the game.


The new TFT update 14.20 arrives soon, offering long-awaited enhancements that players have been eagerly anticipating. These changes may seem minor, but they significantly impact the gameplay experience. Additionally, numerous traits, units, augmentations, and charms are undergoing modifications as well.

The TFT Set 12 has been widely appreciated, as the inclusion of charms significantly altered gameplay dynamics and introduced fresh aspects. Yet, this doesn’t imply that developers have ceased improving older systems that required updates for quite some time.

In patch 14.20, one significant modification is that the process of summoning (starring up) has become immediate. As a result, players will no longer miss out on obtaining the powerful three-star unit while it’s still in the field due to having to wait for the animation to finish playing.

Systems

  • The unit star-up/combine ceremony is now instant
  • When looking for the strongest champion, if two champions are the same character and have the same number of items, the higher star copy will always be registered as the strongest copy

  • Let ’em Cook has been entirely removed and replaced with Make ’em Cook
    • Make ‘Em Cook: Start with a Spatula and a Frying Pan. Reforgers won’t drop. Ever.
