Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare DLC Heading To PC After 14-Year-Long Wait

As a long-time fan of the Wild West genre and Rockstar Games, I can hardly contain my excitement! After years of anticipation, Red Dead Redemption is finally making its grand debut on PC. It’s been a rollercoaster ride since the game first graced our consoles back in 2010, and now, 14 years later, we get to experience it all over again—in stunning, new detail!

Rockstar Games, renowned developer, expands its Western-themed action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption, disclosing that it will debut on PC for the very first time. Originally released 14 years ago, players can now immerse themselves in “enhanced, breathtaking detail” as Rockstar optimizes and tailors the game for PC, with its launch slated for October 29th, 2024.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that along with the main game, the sole expansion, Undead Nightmare, is also making its way to PC on the same day as the base game’s launch. This means you’ll be able to enjoy this spooky addition just in time for Halloween! Pre-orders and wishlisting for both the game and the Undead Nightmare DLC are now open on various PC platforms, including the Rockstar Store itself.

On October 29th, the classic games Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare are making their way to PC. These titles will come equipped with a range of PC-exclusive features, such as native 4k resolution, compatibility for Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide monitors, and many other enhancements tailored for PC gaming.

The full storyline for Red Dead Redemption on its PC release has been unveiled, allowing players to follow the journey of ex-outlaw John Marston as he hunts down the final members of the infamous Van der Linde Gang. This marks the initial appearance of this highly praised precursor to Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. Rockstar Games plans to share details about the PC enhancements and modifications for Red Dead Redemption, set to release later, including the Undead Nightmare DLC, as well as all additional content from the Game of the Year Edition and more, in the coming weeks.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that this game is packed with fantastic features! It boasts native 4K resolution at up to 144hz for smooth gaming, supports ultrawide (21:9) and super ultrawide (32:9) monitors for an immersive experience, and has HDR10 support for stunning visuals. Plus, it’s compatible with peripherals like keyboards and mice to enhance my control.

The developer has previously launched both the game and its additional content (DLC) on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles within the last year. Each version was tailored specifically for the individual platforms. As we speak, the game and DLC are being jointly promoted as a bundle for PC on Epic Games Store and Steam. Players can add it to their Wishlist or pre-order it through the Rockstar Store, which will go live soon.
