Destiny 2 finally makes Exotic class item farming easier in Episode Revenant

As a seasoned Guardian with countless hours spent traversing the cosmos in Destiny 2, I can’t help but feel a sense of relief and anticipation at Bungie’s latest announcement regarding Exotic Class Item Attunement. For far too long, we’ve been at the mercy of RNGesus, praying for that elusive roll on our class items. The thought of being able to attune these items feels like a dream come true, a testament to the power of player feedback and Bungie’s commitment to their community.

In the upcoming Episode Revenant for Destiny 2, players can expect a more straightforward approach when acquiring particular Exotic class item rolls, as Bungie has made official confirmation of this change.

In a playful tweet on October 7th, the studio hinted at upcoming enhancements by mentioning “Exotic Class Item Attunement” and adding “Tomorrow. Visit the Ghost vendor in Pale Heart.” This implies that there will be changes to the system and that more information will be revealed the next day.

Instead of providing additional details, Bungie chose to remain vague, however, it can reasonably be inferred that the vendor in charge of The Final Shape’s destination will likely have the power to give Guardians greater control over the attributes their class items possess.

Essential for constructing Prismatic builds, Exotic class items can be acquired after successfully completing Destiny 2’s two-player activity, known as Dual Destiny. Each completion grants you one class item, while chests in The Pale Heart area also have a small probability of dropping them.

In response to player complaints about a lack of armor variety with over 60 options but insufficient availability, these items were later made available for purchase from Xur during his weekly visits. However, it’s important to note that even these items have random roll attributes, so they might not always be available when Xur appears in the Tower.

The ability to customize Exotic class items means you won’t have to depend on Random Number Generation (RNG) for preferred perks, but Bungie hasn’t specified the details of this process yet. It’s expected that Guardians might need to spend Glimmer and other resources for each purchase, and there’s no assurance that both Exotic perks can be chosen manually.

Until Revenant launches, you can prepare for Destiny 2’s upcoming major update by exploring the perks associated with Revenant’s artifact, the seasonal weapons arriving with Act 1, and some of the potent advantages you’ll be able to utilize through the new Tonic system. We’ll fully understand how the system functions once Revenant is operational, but for now, this should help you get ready!
