Red Dead Redemption Coming To PC This Month With Undead Nightmare

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, the news of Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare expansion coming to PC is nothing short of a dream come true! I vividly remember the thrill of playing RDR on consoles back in the day, and the thought of revisiting that wild, wild west adventure with enhanced visuals and improved performance is simply exhilarating.

After years of whispers and conjecture, Rockstar Games has formally declared that Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare add-on are making their way to personal computers, and this happening very soon. The game and the expansion pack will be available for PC play on October 29th.

Red Dead Redemption for PC is being developed by Double Eleven in partnership with Rockstar Games. This version will offer PC-exclusive features such as 4K resolution at up to 144 frames per second, compatibility with ultrawide and super ultrawide screens, HDR10 support, and advanced upscaling technologies like Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0. Additionally, the game will support Nvidia’s DLSS frame generation and allow players to adjust various settings such as draw distances and shadow quality for an optimized gaming experience.

You can expect the pre-order details by the end of this week. The game can be bought from Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Rockstar’s online store for personal computers.

2018’s Red Dead Redemption II was initially released for consoles a year before its PC version, while the original Red Dead only appeared on Xbox 360 and PS3 back then and didn’t make it to PC until now. Remarkably, it also debuted on the Nintendo Switch in August 2023.

Indie game studio Double Eleven was responsible for adapting Red Dead Redemption for play on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 consoles as well. Their portfolio includes porting games such as Grounded, Fallout 76, Rust, Minecraft Dungeons, Limbo, and many more to various platforms.

Regarding Rockstar Games, they are currently working on Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled to be launched in Autumn of 2025.
