Absolutely, it’s strongly influenced by the chilling 1967 short story ‘I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream’ written by Harlan Ellison.
Gooseworx produced this series, which was released on Glitch Productions’ YouTube channel in October 2023. Currently, the show has garnered more than 500 million views across all its episodes.
As a gamer reminiscing about the origins of this series, I told Forbes that it’s primarily influenced by memories from my childhood. Odd toys and PC games with pre-rendered graphics were the main inspiration. It’s heartening to see so many people from my generation feeling nostalgic in the way I intended them to.

It seemed like Netflix’s initial announcement suggested that six additional episodes were being developed. However, it appears that was a previous version of the article, as the current wording states: “New episodes will become available on Netflix simultaneously with their release on YouTube.
As much as it pains me to admit, I, the gamer, have learned from Gooseworx on Tumblr that there seems to be no Season 2 in sight. However, I’d like to clarify further: Glitch, the game we all love, has always been incredibly supportive of the creative visions of its artists.
Liam Vickers and I are blessed with the ability to conclude our performances at will, guided by the narratives we wish to convey. The points where our shows come to a close are entirely our choices.

At present, The Fantastic Digital Circus hasn’t received a rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but since it’s now available for streaming on Netflix, its score might soon appear there. We’ll make sure to update this information as well.
