Everyone is still excited about *The Batman Part II*, the upcoming sequel from DC Studios and Matt Reeves, which is now scheduled to start filming in 2026. But there’s another Batman movie in development, *The Brave and the Bold*, and director Andy Muschietti recently shared some updates about it during a conversation with a fan.
Is Andy Muschietti still directing The Brave and the Bold?
I was so excited to see a post from @Gotham2739! They randomly ran into Andy Muschietti at a bar over the weekend and actually got to ask him about ‘The Brave and the Bold’! It wasn’t a long conversation, but @Gotham2739 confirmed that Muschietti is still set to direct the movie that’s going to bring Batman into James Gunn’s DC Universe. That’s awesome news for fans like me who’ve been waiting for updates!
A user on X also revealed that production on *The Brave and the Bold* isn’t starting anytime soon, as *The Batman Part II* is the current focus. They said director Andy Muschietti knows a writer is working on the script for the DCU movie, and that he’s familiar with the story’s direction.
Andy Muschietti has been working on “The Brave and the Bold” since June 2023. This film, planned as part of the first chapter of the DC Universe, will draw heavily from a popular Batman storyline created by writer Grant Morrison and artist Andy Kubert in 2006. That story, titled “Batman and Son,” centers around Bruce Wayne discovering he has a son, Damian, with Talia al Ghul, the daughter of his longtime enemy, Ra’s al Ghul.
Filming for The Batman Part II, starring Robert Pattinson, is scheduled to start early next year. While no one has been cast for the next Batman film, The Brave and the Bold, several actors have expressed interest in the role. Alan Ritchson, known for his role in Reacher, and Brandon Sklenar, from 1923, are among those who have publicly stated their desire to play the Dark Knight.
