Pokimane has revealed the horrifying threat she received after her phone number was leaked online.
For nearly ten years, this popular Twitch personality has kept the public eye engaged by openly discussing various aspects of her personal journey.
In August, Poki disclosed that she quit using a celebrity dating app which she found embarrassing because they wouldn’t grant her instant access. Shortly afterwards, she announced an “extraordinary” proposal from YouTube that nearly convinced her to leave Twitch altogether.
On October 6, 2024, I, being Pokimane, disclosed an unsettling incident. After my personal number and that of a friend were made public online, I received a chilling call from someone who issued threats against me.
Essentially, her personal phone number got exposed and they discovered Ray’s number too. What’s concerning is they can disguise the number they’re calling from, making it appear as if they’re phoning from a different number altogether.
“They contacted me using a number they had for Ray, disguising it as hers. As a result, my phone displayed an incoming call from Ray. I answered the call and heard a strange, deep voice say ‘Pokimane, I’m going to sexually assault you right now.’

As a devoted admirer, I’d share that this celebrity on Twitch confided that such phone calls left her feeling uneasy when it comes to sharing my personal number with new acquaintances.
She mentioned that nowadays, when she meets someone new and begins a conversation, she finds herself needing to explain, ‘I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t call me.’ She has developed this request due to past traumatic experiences with phone calls.
I tend to respond with apprehension whenever I receive a call, as if each one is about some critical matter or impending issue.
Previously, Pokimane has also discussed phone number-related incidents on her podcast with LilyPichu, such as the one that occurred on September 21st when a man’s text message to her led his wife to contact her instead.
She immediately began criticizing me over the phone, which is particularly frustrating given my past encounters with unknown callers. She wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise, and I must admit, I was so shocked and scared that I simply ended the call.
