Alien: Isolation 2 Is In Early Development With Original Director Returning

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Alien: Isolation was one of those rare games that truly captured the essence of the Alien franchise and sent shivers down my spine. The news of a sequel has me both excited and cautious, having been burned before by follow-ups that failed to live up to their predecessors.

Al Hope, the creative director behind Alien: Isolation, has officially revealed plans for a follow-up to the chilling video game. To mark the 10-year milestone of the original release, he took to Twitter to share this exciting news.

Today, I’m thrilled to announce, speaking for the team, that a follow-up to Alien: Isolation is in its initial stages of production. We can’t wait to reveal more specifics when the time is right. Although he didn’t offer any additional information, hints in the announcement indicate that the game will likely be developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega, similar to the original.

Initially launched in October 2014, Alien: Isolation has been made available across various platforms such as PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and mobile devices over the years. In addition, it was adapted into a web series in 2019, and a companion book was published in 2022.

In TopMob’s review of Alien: Isolation, we mentioned that the game offers a peek into the future Alien game you’ve been yearning for. Yet, it’s not the means to transport you there directly. Additionally, TopMob reflected on the game by discussing why it sparked such disagreement among fans and critics when it first released.

Although the exact date for the next installment of Alien: Isolation remains undetermined, enthusiasts can look forward to experiencing a fresh film from the series, titled Alien Romulus, in the interim. Furthermore, a new TV show named Alien: Earth is scheduled to broadcast in 2025.
