Silent Hill 2 Remake VR Mod Looks Scary as Hell

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the recent early access premiere of the Silent Hill 2 Remake has been nothing short of exhilarating. The game has received widespread acclaim from both players and critics, with an impressive Metacritic score of 87. However, it’s the VR mod for this remake that truly piqued my interest.

3 days ago, the early access premiere for the Silent Hill 2 Remake took place. The game has been met with positive feedback from both players and critics alike. On Metacritic, it boasts an impressive average score of 87. Yet, enthusiasts of this remake have already created a modification that incorporates a Virtual Reality (VR) mode into Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2 Remake VR mod

In simple terms, a user named praydog on GitHub has developed a modification for a highly praised game that lets you play it in virtual reality (VR). To fully immerse yourself in this VR version, you’ll require suitable VR equipment and robust hardware. However, keep in mind that the mod can be quite demanding, so you’ll likely need a high-performance computer to have an enjoyable gaming experience.

I bet many fans of the game have wanted to try it out in VR for years, and now they finally have the chance since the mod is available for free. Of course, the mod doesn’t currently support motion controls or other features, but the gaming community will likely begin working on those additions soon. Nevertheless, the mod is fully playable in its current version (4.8 – 5.4). You can see the mod in action, as a YouTuber named Beardo Benjo released a half-hour presentation of it. You can watch it below.

It’s also worth mentioning that the game looks much scarier in VR than in “normal” mode. It goes without saying, but consider this a warning! Getting up close and personal with our old friend Pyramid Thing may not be the best way to relax, but hey, whatever works for you—I’m not judging.
