Terrifier 3 banned for millions after extreme gore causes fainting & vomiting

As a seasoned gamer and horror enthusiast who’s been through his fair share of video nasties, I can certainly appreciate the unique appeal that the Terrifier franchise holds for those with a penchant for the gruesome and twisted. While it may not rank among the best horror movies ever made, it undeniably scratches an itch that few others can reach.

In a rare move over the past two decades, a specific nation has prohibited minors from watching Terrifier 3, following instances of audience members leaving, fainting, and becoming nauseous during viewings.

The Terrifier series isn’t responsible for creating the greatest horror movies of all time; however, if you have a penchant for grisly scenes or enjoy darker, violent content (speaking affectionately), these films certainly cater to a certain, bloodthirsty preference.

In the initial movie, a female character is horribly split open from her waist to her head. In the subsequent installment, a young girl experiences a gruesome, malicious tearing apart within her own bedroom, reminiscent of one of Sid’s toys in Toy Story being dismantled.

In a new development, Terrifier 3 has raised the stakes, as its initial scene, which reportedly features children, has led to some walkouts during early screenings.

Undoubtedly, Terrifier 3 is expected to earn a mature rating in cinemas globally. France, however, has taken stricter measures: they have outright banned the screening of this film for anyone under 18, a prohibition not seen since Saw 3 was released in 2006.

The distributors for the third movie were disappointed with the decision made. They expressed that this sudden final choice would negatively impact the release of the film, which many French fans had been looking forward to on October 9th (and as planned). This was stated in an official announcement.

As an avid enthusiast, I found that the initial pair of exhibits in France maintained a stringent categorization, yet remained accessible for those sixteen years old and above.

“The audience for these films, even if they are teenagers, are cinephiles who are passionate and respectful of the films and the cinemas that show them… we remind you that four of our recent releases, including Terrifier 2, were forbidden to minors under 16, and none of them caused the slightest outburst in cinemas.”

In other words, it appears that the movie’s director, Damien Leone, isn’t overly concerned about criticism, instead regarding it as a “source of pride” on Twitter.
