All Tonics in Destiny 2 Episode Revenant Act 1

As a seasoned Guardian with years of battle scars etched onto my gauntlets, I must say, Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant has caught my attention with its intriguing new system – Tonics. These little elixirs promise to enhance my playstyle and reward me for my dedication to the Light.

The Destiny 2 Episode Revenant unveils a completely fresh mechanism known as “Tonics.” Each Tonic offers enhancements tailored to diverse gameplay strategies and increases the rewards you receive from different activities.

A crucial point to note at the outset is that Tonics can be divided into two categories: Volatile and Enriching. The Volatile type enhances combat abilities and increases the effects of Revenant’s Artifact bonuses, whereas the Enriching type amplifies the rewards obtained from defeating foes and completing activities.

At any given moment, only one Tonic of each kind can be in effect, as Volatile Tonics last for approximately an hour after use, whereas the length of time Enriching Tonics remain effective has not been specified yet.

As an excited fan, I can’t help but share that my beloved Guardian’s complete Tonics collection won’t be accessible until Revenant officially launches. However, Bungie has generously given us a sneak peek at some of the individual effects these Tonics will have before the update drops.

Volatile Tonics

All Tonics in Destiny 2 Episode Revenant Act 1Volatile Tonics provide combat buffs and boosts to Revenant’s Artifact perks.
TONICEFFECT (60 Minutes)BOOSTED ARTIFACT PERKS
Refined Tonic of Protecting FrostWhile Frost Armor is active, Primary ammo Stasis weapons deal bonus damage.Wind Chill, Armor of Eramis
Refined Tonic of Stasis CrystallizationShattering a Stasis crystal grants you a small amount of class ability energy.Crystalline Converter, Hail The Storm
Refined Tonic of Renewing FinishersFinishers grant you a small amount of health.Debilitating Wave, Conductive Cosmic Crystal
Refined Tonic of Weakening VoidWhile Devour is active, Special ammo Void weapons deal bonus damage.Power From Pain, Concussive Reload
Refined Tonic of Amplified ArcWhile you are Amplified, Primary ammo Arc weapons deal bonus damage.Trace Evidence, Retinal Burn
Refined Tonic of BrawlingReduces incoming damage from combatants that are at point-blank range. The Thick of It, Curative Orbs
Refined Tonic of Void ShrapnelGain bonus Intellect.Void Renewal, Old God’s Rite

It’s evident from the examples given that Bungie aims to tailor each Tonic to cater to the needs of players with particular build types, as opposed to granting universal boosts to all Guardians’ abilities.

Since you can only use one drink at a time in combat, players must decide on the Tonic they prefer for brewing before engaging in battle. Excluding Raids and Dungeons, the 60-minute duration should offer ample time, ensuring that there’s no need to refresh during combat.

Enriching Tonics

All Tonics in Destiny 2 Episode Revenant Act 1Enriching Tonics provide buffs to rewards from defeating enemies and activity completions.

Bungie hasn’t shown us any buffs from Enriching Tonics yet, but based on the hints in the game’s user interface, it looks like we can expect special Tonics that increase the drop rate of certain weapon types and armor pieces in the future.

Here’s a summary of what we currently understand about Tonics; remember to revisit us once Revenant launches on October 8 to access the comprehensive list.

Meanwhile, take the opportunity to refresh your knowledge about the contents of Destiny 2’s forthcoming Episode by exploring our specialized sections for Revenant and the approaching dungeon Vesper’s Host, reintroducing the cherished Exotic weapon, Ice Breaker.
