Nexstar Cuts Chief Revenue Officer Who Tried to Sell CW, NewsNation

As a long-time follower of Nexstar Media’s journey, I must say that the departure of Michael Strober, their Chief Revenue Officer, marks a significant change in the company’s leadership. His tenure has been marked by strategic moves to amplify Nexstar’s reach and influence across various media platforms, from entertainment and sports to news and local programming.

Nexstar Media is cutting the ribbon that tied together its ad packaging strategy.

The large television broadcasting company is getting rid of the role of its Chief Revenue Officer, as stated in a document filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last Friday. They are opting for a more simplified organizational structure instead. This individual is anticipated to depart from Nexstar on October 30th.

According to Nexstar’s announcement, Michael Strober, who has been holding the position of Chief Revenue Officer since January 2023, will be parting ways with the company by the end of October. They expressed gratitude for his leadership and dedication, and wish him continued success in his future endeavors.

Under Strober’s leadership, Nexstar, being the largest proprietor of local TV stations nationwide, has emphasized demonstrating the company’s influence in both national and regional media. This is achieved by highlighting a wide variety of entertainment and sports programming on its CW network, delivering news through NewsNation, and engaging viewers from various geographical areas who tune into their local broadcasts.

During the second quarter, Nexstar’s total ad revenue increased by 2.2% or approximately $11 million, reaching a total of $522 million.
