Dead by Daylight Reverts Controversial Mori Offering Changes

As a seasoned Dead by Daylight player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the recent changes to Mori have left me both amused and perplexed. On one hand, the idea of a cinematic Mori at the end of a match sounded intriguing, adding a touch of drama to an already suspenseful game. However, retracting the changes to Cypress Memento Mori feels like a breath of fresh air.

There’s been a lot of chat about Moris in Dead by Daylight, with many suggestions for updates to this well-known mechanic. In a recent PTB, developers experimented with a new feature where Moris could be used for a dramatic ending to a match instead of being employed throughout. The cinematic Mori would provide Bloodpoints upon completion, but the current Mori offerings would only do so when used for this final sequence.

In the upcoming PTB patch, Dead by Daylight is making a change that fans have been asking for: they are going back to the original version of the Cypress Memento Mori offering, which means the Killer will once more be able to kill any Survivors who have reached the second hook state using either the Ivory or Ebony Memento Mori Offerings.

In response to significant feedback from our community regarding the adjustments made to the Ivory and Ebony Memento Mori Offerings during the PTB, Peanits, the Community Manager of Dead by Daylight, mentioned in a Developer Update that we have decided to undo or reverse those changes for the Mori Offerings.

With the upcoming 8.3.0 update, we have some modifications to reveal based on your valuable input 👇

In the recent update, developers addressed two main points raised by fans: a decline in mid-game kill chances and reduced opportunities for capturing Mori photos. Furthermore, they acknowledged that the Bloodpoint reward might unintentionally promote actions that are not enjoyable.

Due to the upcoming update, the Cypress Memento Mori Offerings will no longer be available. However, don’t worry if you’ve already invested a significant amount of Bloodpoints in them. You’ll receive 1 million Bloodpoints as compensation for any unused offerings. Remember to log in between October 8 and October 17, 2024, to claim these Bloodpoints, as they must be claimed within that timeframe.
