As a seasoned movie buff with a keen eye for production talent, I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Yolanda T. Cochran into her new role as Head of Production at Imagine Entertainment and Jax Media. With over two decades of experience under her belt, this powerhouse executive is no stranger to the world of film and television. From “Gray Matter” to “The Blind Side,” Cochran’s impressive list of credits speaks volumes about her versatility and dedication to storytelling.
As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I, myself, have been appointed as the head of production at Jax Media, a subsidiary of Imagine Entertainment. The esteemed industry veteran, Yolanda T. Cochran, will be joining our team, bringing her wealth of experience to our production lineup.
In her newly assumed position, Cochran will manage the sales, plan strategies, and execute Jax Media’s production services. Additionally, she will provide production assistance and consultancy to the scripted divisions of Imagine Entertainment, offering guidance on film and television productions spanning diverse formats and themes. Cochran takes over from Jake Fuller, a long-serving production head, who is moving on to concentrate on independent production in golf and sports content.
Justin Wilkes, president of Imagine Entertainment, expressed that although we’ll dearly miss Jake and his indispensable input, we are delighted to introduce Yolanda as our new Head of Production. We believe Yolanda’s wealth of expertise will be instrumental in boosting Jax’s collection of acclaimed programming. As the entertainment industry adapts to provide top-notch content at competitive prices, Yolanda’s adaptability in narrative creation makes her perfectly suited to guide our expansion plans.
Cochran brings over two decades of expertise in film and TV production to her new role with Imagine, Jax, and other studios. She has held key positions such as senior VP of production at Viacom CBS Kids & Family, VP of production at Freeform, and executive VP of physical production at Alcon Entertainment. Some of her notable works include “Gray Matter,” a Project Greenlight film for HBO Max, the movies “Point Break,” “Dolphin Tale” and its sequel, “Transcendence,” “Beautiful Creatures,” “The Book of Eli,” “The Blind Side,” and “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” as well as their sequels.
Jax Media’s recent announcement about hiring Cochran coincides with their 14th Primetime Emmy victory, earned for “David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.” They’ve also produced season 4 of the popular Netflix show “Emily in Paris,” as well as new seasons of “Animal Control,” “The Conners,” and “Everyone Else Burns,” along with Riz Ahmed’s upcoming series for Amazon. Currently, Jax Media has ongoing productions for Netflix, Amazon, ABC, FOX, and Paramount in various locations such as the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
