51 Studios, the developers behind Chernobylite, have revealed a sneak peek at the gameplay for their upcoming title, Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone. This sequel to Chernobylite is slated for launch in the year 2025 on platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone Gameplay Trailer
The trailer primarily explores landscapes near the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, a site where beings known as planeswalkers journey between alternate realities to find Chernobylite, a valuable resource. They bravely confront mutated beasts and antagonistic survivor groups and rival factions. In the sequel to Chernobylite, titled Chernobylite 2, players can anticipate an enhanced action RPG experience with expanded building options and refined melee combat mechanics. DIVERSE COMBAT
Experience intense battles utilizing a sophisticated close-quarters fighting system, or maintain a safe distance with a variety of guns in a third-person gameplay mode – master your character’s movements. You may opt for a stealthy approach, or enlist allies for support. While navigating the game world, you’ll perceive it through your own eyes, but during combat, switching to the third-person view will offer a clearer understanding of potential dangers and improve your response time.
In Chernobylite 2, the combat system has been significantly expanded from its predecessor. The inclusion of an intricate melee combat and crafting system adds a wealth of options for character customization, allowing for varied gameplay strategies and tactics to be devised independently. However, if you prefer the original pace of Chernobylite, that option remains available as well.
PLANEWALKING
Modify your aircraft design and gear according to the circumstances, using the plane-walking ability that lets you adjust things quickly on the spot. You’re welcome to cultivate multiple skill sets for your character. If you find yourself in a situation where your previously prepared heavy melee build is more effective than your current ranged sniper, use plane-walking and switch to another one.
TEAM BUILDING
Venture into an enriching team experience! Every member of your group could serve as a mentor, eager to pass on their wisdom and expertise.
