Civ 7 Reveals Another Civilization, Announces Next Livestream

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel like a kid in a candy store with each new reveal for Civilization 7. The Khmer returning to the series is not just nostalgia-inducing, but also an exciting prospect as they’ve been given a fresh coat of paint and some intriguing abilities. The fact that we can now pick any leader to lead them makes the anticipation even greater!

The journey towards Civilization 7 moves on as they unveil another Antiquity Age civilization – the Khmer, who were previously seen in Civilization 6 and are now back with new powers and playable by any leader of your choosing. Additionally, Firaxis has announced that a live stream showcasing the Shawnee is imminent, coming up just in a few days.

Civ 7 Reveals Another Civilization, Announces Next Livestream

If you’re excited to catch a glimpse of Civilization 7 in motion, mark your calendars! The next official broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 10am Pacific Time / 1pm Eastern Time / 7pm Central European Summer Time. This time around, it seems they will be spotlighting the new leader Tecumseh and the Shawnee civilization.

For those who pre-order Civilization 7, you’ll get the Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack DLC at its launch on February 11, 2025. But don’t worry if you decide to join in later; you’ll still have an opportunity to buy the DLC separately at a later time. If you opt for the Deluxe or Founders Edition of Civ 7, not only will you receive this DLC, but also several other unannounced DLC packs.

In the upcoming game Civilization 7, it’s clear that the Shawnee are a civilization with a focus on exploration, economy, and diplomacy. The presence of navigable rivers will significantly impact their gameplay. Regarding Tecumseh, at this stage, our knowledge is limited to the fact that he will be a diplomatic leader who can enhance food, production, and combat power for each allied city-state.

Previous Civilization 7 streams have often run for over an hour, so there’s a good chance we’ll see more of the Exploration Age unfold in future broadcasts. Additionally, the stream will include distinguished guests from the Shawnee tribe. You can catch the livestream on either the Civilization YouTube Channel or the Firaxis Games Twitch Channel.

Regarding the recently unveiled Khmer Empire, it stands out as an expansionist and scientific civilization with a distinct feature that allows it to maintain existing resource yields while constructing Urban Districts on rivers. The iconic Angkor Wat monument is set to return in Civilization 7, though we are yet to confirm whether the historical leader of the Khmer, Jayavarman VII, will also make an appearance. As we edge closer to a new First Look for the game, we might catch a glimpse of additional details about the Khmer or insight into how Tecumseh functions when Civilization 7 is released.
