Palworld Is Coming To Mobile With PUBG Studio Handling Development

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated through countless virtual worlds, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the news of Palworld coming to mobile devices! Having played it on PC and Xbox earlier this year, I was captivated by its unique blend of creature collection, farming, and survival elements. The fact that PUBG Studios is developing the mobile version only adds to my anticipation.

The well-known game Palworld is being developed for mobile devices, as Krafton (the creators of PUBG) are currently negotiating a licensing agreement with Pocketpair to make this possible.

PUBG Studios is working on a mobile adaptation of the game called Palworld, but specific details about it were not mentioned in the press release. After the initial launch of Palworld in January 2024, unofficial, fraudulent mobile versions of the game started circulating, leading Pocketpair to urge fans to stay cautious and be aware of potential scams.

Just recently, the partnership between Krafton and Pocketpair became public knowledge, following closely after Nintendo filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair for alleged patent violations. Earlier this year, Palworld saw massive popularity upon its debut on PC and Xbox platforms, and the PS5 version was made available at the end of September.

In essence, mobile is simply an expansion of Palworld’s realm, and Pocketpair has no intention of halting this progress. Furthermore, they’ve teamed up with Sony to establish Palworld Entertainment, a venture aimed at exploring further licensing prospects, such as merchandise.

While Palworld shares some characteristics with Pokemon, Nintendo’s legal dispute isn’t about copying ideas (copyright). Instead, it’s about whether Pocketpair has violated specific technological inventions that Nintendo holds the patent for (patent infringement). One expert predicts that Nintendo will win its case against Pocketpair, suggesting that since Nintendo can’t stop Palworld due to copyright reasons, they plan to use other methods like technical patents to potentially cause trouble.
