Venom roasts Marvel fans in brutal Twitter trend: “Your profile pic is a furry”

As a lifelong Marvel fan who has been following the Venom saga since its inception, I must say this latest social media trend has me utterly captivated! It’s like witnessing my favorite symbiote come to life right before my eyes, and oh boy, does he ever deliver some zingers!

The internet is buzzing with laughter over a fresh trend on social media platforms, previously known as Twitter, where Spider-Man from Marvel is mercilessly poking fun at numerous fans in a series of hilarious exchanges.

The third and apparently final main Venom movie starring Tom Hardy, titled “The Last Dance,” is set to premiere on October 25. Although it’s uncertain if the character will entirely disappear from Sony’s Marvel universe, there’s a possibility that an appearance within the MCU could be on the horizon as well. For now, it seems like Venom is approaching its own trilogy.

In a grand finale, Venom’s social media team has been authorized to participate in a humorous trend. To announce that tickets are now available, the Venom X account is acting mischievously, mercilessly teasing fans about their looks, bios, and any other details ripe for a quick, witty jab.

On October 1st, the account took on the character of Venom and announced, “I’m back!” With tickets now available, they were in high spirits and decided to throw a party – a roast. Within just a few hours, the hashtag #VenomRoastMe became a viral trend.

Was this the last time you were happy?

Kicking things off casually, a few of the comments from fans were pretty tame, with Venom suggesting they catch some sun or clean their mirrors. But it didn’t take much time before things heated up, and before I knew it, there was a lot of flavor flying around on X.

One post with the hashtag came from an adult sharing a picture of them as children, adorning a Spider-Man costume like millions have. Venom asked bluntly if this was the last time they were happy.

“It’s like a role was missed by the drama enthusiast.” In this context, the original phrase refers to someone who is deeply involved in theater but didn’t get the desired part, and the rephrase maintains the same meaning while using slightly different words.

In a different tone, “Venom sarcastically said, ‘I’ve never come across an ‘influencer’ who has only a thousand followers!’

As more and more insults were hurled, various social media platforms joined the fray. “Your gaming feed on Reddit must be a wild ride,” one enthusiast quipped to me. “It seems like you’ve turned Letterboxd into an extension of your very self,” another comment struck a chord with me.

Though the crème de la crème was one insult targeted at one user with an intriguing profile picture. Racking up over 40,000 likes already, the most viral response hit back at a fan for their “profile pic literally [being] a furry.”

Your profile pic is literally a furry…
