Unofficial Crumbl Cookie pop-up in Australia goes viral for “jump scare” prices & stale products

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated countless virtual worlds and marketplaces, I can’t help but draw parallels between this Crumbl Cookies debacle and certain in-game transactions. Just like these Australian fans eagerly waiting for their virtual cookies, gamers often find themselves in queues for the latest loot boxes or rare items, only to be disappointed by the quality of what they receive.

A makeshift Crumbl Cookies pop-up shop in Australia is causing a buzz online because of unexpected high prices, lengthy waits, and reportedly less than fresh cookies.

The Crumble bakery chain is well-known across the U.S. and Canada, with countless outlets in those two nations. However, so far, the franchise hasn’t ventured into establishing its presence in other global regions.

Known for their unique cookie varieties, the store offers a selection of tasty options such as Pumpkin Cake, Superior Peanut Butter, and Oatmeal with Chocolate Chips.

As an avid gamer, I’ve been keeping tabs on the latest trends, and one thing that’s really caught my attention is the craze for Crumbl Cookies Down Under. With not many places offering them, Aussie fans have seized this opportunity by setting up a buzzing pop-up stall, which has taken social media by storm! Located at Bondi Beach, these dedicated resellers, known as Crumblsydney on TikTok, have organized a temporary store to dish out these viral treats to the local crowd.

On the contrary, they’ve faced criticism for “price jump” exploitation and an additional issue: accusations of selling expired goods to clients, who had endured lengthy queues of up to an hour, just to purchase the item.

TikToker sofiaqistinee gave Crumbl Cookies a six out of ten in her review but added, “In terms of freshness, ” they were a “0 out of 5.”

Jassy_lifestyle1 noted that a good portion of them were not only old but also disintegrating, and it was somewhat disheartening to say the least. Additionally, she mentioned that they had a very dry taste.

A fellow TikToker, elle_easternsuburbsmum, shared an unfortunate experience. She waited more than an hour to buy Crumbl Cookies but ended up spending $150 AUD for only ten cookies. To add insult to injury, she expressed disappointment as the product fell short of her expectations, stating that they weren’t fresh.

In a whirlwind of excitement, I couldn’t help but share my thoughts on those irresistible cookies that everyone’s been talking about. It turns out, my review managed to capture the hearts of over 1.1 million viewers in under two days! The founder himself, Sawyer Hemsley from Crumbl Cookies, even took notice and responded in the comments section. Simply amazing!

Hemsley recommends that you should definitely taste these delicacies when you’re in the USA, as a note, this message isn’t associated with Crumbl Cookies.

According to Hemsley’s statement, Crumblesydney explained on their TikTok post (which linked to a Google document) that the high prices online were not due to them being an official store of the chain, but rather for other reasons.

They made it clear that they are not an authorized Crumbl store, a fact that was highlighted in their bio and comments. Their goal was to share the genuine Crumbl cookie experience with Australians by shipping them directly from the United States.

Subsequently, they explained that due to high costs associated with transporting the cookies to Australia (approximately $3,700 AUD for packaging and shipping), their primary objective was not financial gain but rather to deliver these cookies to Crumbl enthusiasts in Australia.
