As someone who has navigated the tumultuous waters of Hollywood for decades, I find myself in agreement with Whoopi Goldberg‘s wise words about the political leanings of Tinseltown. While it may seem that the town is dominated by liberal voices, it’s essential to remember that we are a diverse bunch, and our political beliefs reflect this complexity.
Whoopi Goldberg has expressed skepticism regarding Zachary Levi’s statement that “Hollywood is extremely liberal” and his assertion that supporting Donald Trump for president could potentially harm his career. Levi shared this view during a rally where he backed Trump’s campaign, encouraging attendees that we will “make America great again.
Goldberg stated that while it’s not universally accurate, Hollywood is often seen as a liberal stronghold (as reported by Entertainment Weekly). However, he pointed out that Hollywood has traditionally leaned towards conservative views, although this might be unfamiliar information to some, so he offered to enlighten them about the history of Hollywood.
Goldberg explained to Levi that “we’re an eclectic group” and occasionally, it appears as though there are more Democrats or more Republicans within our ranks, but the fact is, very few individuals align themselves with the Republican party because they’re unpopular,” referring to the long-standing careers of outspoken conservatives and working actors like Jon Voight and Dennis Quaid. Goldberg further commented that Levi’s statement was “nonsense” and not necessary.
On September 28, Levi gave his support for Trump during a rally in Michigan, prior to presenting Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former presidential candidate, and Tulsi Gabbard, a former congresswoman, on stage. The famous actor from “Shazam!” was attending the “Team Trump’s Reclaim America Tour” event to lead a discussion with Kennedy and Gabbard.
Levi declared on stage, ‘Our mission is to restore this nation to its former glory, to revitalize it, and to make it thrive once more.’ In solidarity with Bobby, Tulsi, and everyone else backing President Trump, I stand because I firmly believe that among the two options available to us, Donald Trump, our current President, is the one who can lead us towards success. He’s the one who will guide us there as he has the backing, support, intelligence, knowledge, and determination found in Robert Kennedy Jr. and former representative Tulsi Gabbard.
Initially, Levi supported Kennedy for presidency; however, following Kennedy’s withdrawal from the contest, he shifted his allegiance to Trump.
For quite some time, I’ve been searching for a politician who embodies my values and ideals, especially in a presidential candidate. This year, I discovered Bobby Kennedy, and I felt, ‘Wow, this is the one! He’s authentic.’ In an ideal scenario, I might have cast my vote for him. But we don’t inhabit an ideal world; instead, we reside in a deeply flawed one, a nation that has been manipulated by many who aim to steer it towards disaster. Our goal is to prevent this, isn’t it?
More recently, Levi featured in Sony’s family movie titled “Harold and the Purple Crayon,” that debuted in cinemas during August.
