Jake Paul will still box after MMA debut despite “finishing up” worries

As a long-time fan who has witnessed Jake Paul‘s meteoric rise from YouTube sensation to professional boxer, I find his decision to venture into MMA both intriguing and slightly apprehensive. While I initially thought that his Mike Tyson fight might mark the end of his boxing journey, I’m relieved to learn that he’s not hanging up the gloves just yet.

Despite some speculation that he might retire after his MMA debut and the Mike Tyson fight, it’s clear that Jake Paul intends to carry on with boxing.

In January 2023, Jake Paul made quite an impact by revealing he had joined the PFL – the Professional Fighters League. Known as ‘The Problem Child’, he was gaining momentum in the boxing sphere, so his move to Mixed Martial Arts took many fans and combatants by surprise.

Since sealing the deal, the former YouTube personality turned boxer has shifted his focus exclusively towards boxing. Despite numerous attempts to arrange fights for his MMA debut, it has consistently been delayed.

According to the Professional Fighter’s League (PFL), he is expected to make his debut in 2025, two years following the signing of his contract. However, before that, he will face a fight against Mike Tyson, which PFL CEO Peter Murray described as Jake’s “final chapter” in boxing.

Initially, it seemed like Jake’s statement was intended as a wrap-up for the year, but some people misunderstood and thought he was retiring from boxing. Later, Murray clarified the situation.

As a gamer, I’m embarking on a new chapter in my combat sports journey, but I’ve made a firm commitment to step into the PFL MMA ring for the first time in 2025. I shared this with Bloody Elbow.

As a gamer speaking about Jake, let me tell you he’s set to square off against a true-blue combatant in his first match. Trust me, this event is going to be something spectacular!

Our team is working together with Jake in the MMA field, and we’re excited about assisting him. We plan to organize a major event next year, with further details to be announced. Several challengers have already expressed interest.

To clarify, Jake has extended proposals to both Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal. However, considering their current commitments with the UFC, it seems rather improbable that either would serve as his first opponent in a match.
