As someone who’s been gaming since the era of 8-bit, I must say, the new Remnant 2 has got me hooked! It’s not every day you find a game that pays such an adorable homage to our beloved Sega Genesis, and the Genesis Bow is just the cherry on top.
In the game Remnant 2, one of the rarest and hard-to-obtain weapons is known as the Genesis Bow. To claim this bow, you must initially locate it, followed by solving an extremely intricate riddle or puzzle. Luckily, I’ve taken care of the tough part, and the solution can be found below.
Where is the Genesis Long Gun located in Remnant 2?
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share a helpful hint: The location of the Genesis Bow is not far from where you discover the Warden Archetype. Begin your journey from the Waylaid Conservatory fast-travel point, and then make your way towards the cliff edge, following the direction suggested in the screenshot below. Happy hunting!
After that, seize the glider and depart, heading directly towards the platform ahead. Once you reach the other side, traverse through the vegetation resembling corn. Continue straight until you locate another glider platform.
Climb aboard the glider, swiftly make a right turn. Maintain a position close to the right side, keeping near the large column on your right-hand side.
As a gamer, here’s how I’d put it: “Keep moving forward past the wind pillar on my right side, make a sharp left turn after that, and then climb up using the wind pillar.
There will be a platform straight ahead. Land on this.

How to solve the Genesis bow puzzle in Remnant 2
In simpler terms, obtaining the Genesis Bow isn’t achieved by solving the puzzle. Some players have found a way around this by manipulating their in-game clocks, but the developers clarified that this is more of a workaround and not the intended solution to the puzzle.
As a gamer, I’ve found an interesting trick: The codes in this game seem to follow a recurring pattern that resets every few days. If you want to grab the current code, set your PC or console clock to 4:50 PM Eastern Standard Time on September 29th, 2024, and voila! That should be the code you’re looking for.
Although this isn’t the perfect answer to the puzzle, we managed to make the code as reliable as possible. I tested the time, date, and code combination on my PlayStation 5 and PC, and it functioned flawlessly for both systems. Since I don’t have an Xbox Series console, I couldn’t verify it there, but it should work just the same.
How to change the time and date on PC
On most computers, if you right-click on the clock located at the bottom left corner of your screen, you’ll find an option that says “Adjust date and time.” Clicking on it will allow you to modify the current time and date. After clicking, set the time to 4:50 PM Eastern Standard Time and the date to September 29th, 2024.
How to change the time and date on PlayStation 5
Navigate to the Settings, then select System. Inside System, click on ‘Adjust Date & Time’. You’ll see an option that says “Set date and time automatically” or “Set date and time manually.” Pick the manual option. Proceed by adjusting the time to 4:50 PM Eastern Time and the date to September 29th, 2024.
How to change the time and date on an Xbox Series S/X
As a gamer, I’ve found that tweaking the time and date settings on my Xbox can be quite a hassle. To make changes, you’ll first need to disconnect from the internet – which means you won’t be able to multiplayer with friends during this process. To do this, navigate to Settings, then select “Go Offline.” After disconnecting, you might have to shut down your Xbox and power it back on for the settings update to take effect.
Once your Xbox is operational again, navigate to the Settings menu, then select System settings, followed by adjusting the Time to 16:50 (hours:minutes format). Set the Date to 9/29/2024, afterward launch Remnant 2 and proceed to the Bow area. Enter the code provided.
So what’s the real answer to the puzzle?
It’s still unclear at the moment, but Tragic seems to be suggesting that we may already have the solution, hinting towards a picture he posted on Twitter. The Remnant Discord community is abuzz with speculation, and once the correct answer is revealed, this article will be updated accordingly.

The Genesis Bow, as the name sort of implies is a Sega Genesis in bow form with its Mega Drive mod. Even the lore suggests the Mega Drive and the Sega Genesis: “The Phetyr thrived on competition, even in weapon design. The Genesis Bow, facing a formidable rival, distinguished itself with one standout feature: 32x Blast Processing, as its creator was quick to point out.” The 32x is a reference to the 32x add-on for Sega Genesis and Sega CD.
Apart from its entertaining nods, the Genesis Long Gun boasts impressive specifications. It features Entanglement, enabling simultaneous hits on multiple targets. Its damage output is considerable, and its precision is exceptional, almost unparalleled. It’s an excellent component for any long-range weapon setup.
