Driver distracted by YouTube videos accused of killing man loading tow truck

As someone who has spent years behind the wheel of semi-trucks and experienced countless close calls, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of sympathy for Troy Caldwell and his family. It’s heartbreaking to hear about such a tragic accident that took the life of a man who dedicated himself to safety on the road.

The individual operating the vehicle is under suspicion for altering evidence, following claims that he had been viewing YouTube videos just prior to striking and fatally hitting a tow truck operator with his car.

On September 25, as recorded by authorities on Wednesday, Shodmon Yuldashev, aged 29, tragically hit and killed a pedestrian while he was engrossed in YouTube videos from behind the wheel of his semi-truck.

The accident occurred on Interstate 64 in Bath County, Kentucky. Officers say that the 54-year-old victim, Troy Caldwell, was loading his tow truck with another vehicle when he was killed on impact.

According to the police, Yuldashev is accused of multiple offenses. However, it’s possible that he realized his mistake when it’s alleged that he tried to manipulate his YouTube history following the incident.

According to the police, Yuldashev was accused of trying to switch off his tablet and conceal it during his apprehension, leading to charges for obstructing the investigation by tampering with potential evidence.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve learned about Caldwell’s passing, and one of his old tow truck buddies shared some heartfelt words. He mentioned that Caldwell passed away while pursuing what he was truly passionate about, and it’s no secret that Caldwell always prioritized safety above all else in his line of work.

“He was just a really upstanding guy, he loved what he did,” Bubba Johnson said.

He was known as “Mr. Safety,” constantly diligent about checks and re-checks, always donning bright safety attire, making him an ideal candidate to lead any safety gathering.

Fellow tow-truck drivers also came together as a community to pay their respects to their friend.

On TikTok, Johnson expressed that the number of tow truck companies who came to pay their respects for a fallen industry comrade was overwhelmingly moving, causing goosebumps for those who witnessed it. He remarked that Troy, such a wonderful person, would have been astounded by it all; likely grinning from ear to ear if he had known the scale of the tribute.

In simple terms, the Police Chief of Morehead, Derrick Blevins, also expressed his thoughts about Caldwell’s passing, describing it as a “difficult loss.

Blevins stated, “Troy is simply a kind individual who is more than happy to assist whenever needed. He often exceeded expectations, especially at accident sites, making his departure a significant blow to everyone.

As per Caldwell’s memorial notice, he leaves behind his father and spouse. His interests were diverse, with a deep-rooted enthusiasm for various activities. He cherished working, as well as accumulating Hot Wheels and baseball cards, crafting woodwork pieces, and socializing with his loved ones. The obituary noted that he will be deeply missed. Besides Caldwell’s unexpected passing, three individuals met their end earlier this September following a bus accident that flipped onto a tight roadway in Brazil. Even though a journalist provided updates on-site, influencer MC Livinho disrupted the scene with an impromptu dance performance using her camera.

Following its widespread circulation, many online users expressed displeasure as the social media influencer appeared unfazed, labeling his behavior as “ungracious” or “insensitive.
