‘The Penguin’ Episode 2 Brings in 1.6 Million Viewers on HBO and Max

As a seasoned cinema enthusiast with over three decades of immersion in the world of entertainment, I must say that the success of “The Penguin” is nothing short of impressive. The 17% increase from its premiere to the second episode, particularly moving from a Thursday debut to a Sunday slot, speaks volumes about the series’ captivating narrative and Colin Farrell’s stellar performance as Oswald Cobblepot.

Episode 2 of “The Penguin” hit 1.6 million viewers across HBO and Max on Sunday.

According to Warner Bros. Discovery, viewership for the series has grown by 17% compared to its initial premiere on September 19. The network first reported that Episode 1 was watched by 5.3 million viewers after four days across various platforms (including its linear debut on HBO, streaming on Max, and re-airings on HBO). However, this new figure indicates that the pilot episode drew around 1.3 million viewers during its first broadcast. It’s worth mentioning that the first episode was aired on Thursday night, while Episode 2 moved the series to its regular Sunday night slot.

In just eleven days since its premiere, Episode 1 of WBD garnered 10.4 million viewers, surpassing every other ongoing HBO show apart from “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us.” (Paraphrased)
