As an admirer of resilience and tenacity, I find myself deeply moved by Anna Delvey‘s journey. Her life experiences, filled with trials and tribulations, have molded her into a remarkable woman who refuses to be silenced or defined by circumstances beyond her control.
After being eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars” on September 24, Anna Delvey has expressed her thoughts publicly about the show.
Sorokin expressed to NBC News that she believes the show manipulated her, prioritizing ratings over her personal growth. Instead of providing opportunities for her to advance, they only seemed interested in using her for publicity. It was underhanded of them to make her feel insufficient and unintelligent, all while she continually improved, yet they ignored her progress.
Delvey and her partner Ezra Sosa were among the initial contestants to be eliminated during the season, joining Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov. In the live broadcast, co-host Julianne Hough inquired about what she’d take away from the show following her departure, to which she replied, “Nothing.” Subsequently, she confessed to “Good Morning America” that getting eliminated was actually her favorite aspect of the entire experience.
Delvey appeared on Spelling’s “misspelled” podcast on September 28th, where he was questioned about his “nothing” remark. He replied that it was indeed the truth.
She expressed that she had followed the instructions given but was still turned down, leaving her with nothing. From this experience, she concluded that the advice provided was ineffective because it didn’t lead to the desired outcome. She also mentioned feeling let down because she was encouraged with suggestions like “smile more,” or do specific things, which made her feel they had invested a lot of effort into helping her, only to eliminate her early from the show.
She asserted that removing her and Spelling was essentially a ploy for them to eliminate us prematurely, before Eric [Roberts] and Reginald [VelJohnson], and she expressed that the show seemed pointless to her.
Prior to the premiere of the new season, showrunner Conrad Green justified the choice to hire Delvey, who has a criminal record. Delvey, a woman previously incarcerated for her crimes, had to navigate through her ankle monitor as part of her house arrest. In 2017, she was taken into custody for impersonating a wealthy heiress and swindling individuals, hotels, and banks. Convicted of grand larceny in the first, second, and third degree, Delvey served her time.
He believed that she naturally piques one’s interest, given her fascination with fashion and similar areas. He felt confident that she would impress as a dancer. He thought the audience was eager to watch her. At the time, he stated that she is a significant and intriguing figure in the cast. Although she has faced challenges, there have been contestants on the show who’ve had criminal histories. She served her sentence. In his opinion, it’s only fair for her to be on the show, and the audience seems eager to see her performance.
