However, before you can hop into Shattered Space, you need to meet a few requirements and complete a specific task in Starfield. Here’s how to start the Starfield DLC, Shattered Space.
Requirements for Shattered Space in Starfield
First off, to get started, you must have Shattered Space DLC in your possession. Shattered Space is an additional game content that you can buy separately from Starfield for $29.99. You can acquire it from the platform where you play Starfield, which could be Steam or the Xbox Store. Users of Xbox Game Pass will also need to purchase this expansion, and they can do so at a reduced price using the link provided below.
If you’ve purchased either the Premium or Constellation versions of Starfield, you’re fortunate because Shattered Space is already yours as part of those packages. All you have to do is ensure your Starfield game is updated by September 30 to enjoy this DLC.
After acquiring and downloading Shattered Space, you have the ability to launch Starfield. To start playing Shattered Space, all that is needed is to finish the game’s introductory mission called “One Small Step.” This mission transports you to Jemison on New Atlantis within the Alpha Centauri system, without requiring you to join Constellation first to accomplish it.

- This makes a new mission, What Remains, appear in your quest log.
- Activate the new mission and board The Oracle space station, which will appear in whatever system you traveled to.
- The Oracle is a large station with tall beams surrounding it.
- To board The Oracle, press the “Interact” button while in your ship and you’ll get the prompt to dock.
