According to Deadline, the fifth season of Sweet Magnolias started with 2.8 million viewers, making it the fourth most popular English-language show on Netflix that week. This strong start should increase the chances of the show being renewed. However, viewership was down 30% compared to the season 3 premiere, which had four million viewers.
It’s not yet known why viewership has decreased, but this isn’t unusual for Netflix. Many popular shows, like the second season of the comedy The Four Seasons, have seen a dip in viewers during their first week.
