As a seasoned veteran of the realm, I must say that patch 7.1 seems to be shaping up quite splendidly indeed! The prospect of tackling Dawntrail’s third extreme with Sphene’s Burden sending chills down my spine, not just from the challenge, but also the tantalizing promise of a new mount and gear.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.1 content
New story
Initially, let’s embark on a fresh narrative that continues right after the main storyline of Dawntrail. This new tale will delve deeper into the lives of characters such as Gulool Ja, Krile, and Graha’Tia, offering us extended time with them.
As a gamer, I can’t quite predict the future, but the open-ended finale of Dawntail has opened up a vast landscape of potential narratives for the developers to explore next.
Allied Society: Pelupelu
The developers have unveiled Dawntrail’s initial collaborative group, known as the Pelupelu Society. This will be our first alliance in Dawntrail, and based on the latest update, it seems that the Pelupelu are geared towards combat-related roles, offering an excellent chance to advance alternate jobs. Engaging with them also boosts your standing with them, and as a reward, you can earn appealing cosmetics such as emotes, mounts, and other exciting items.
Custom Deliveries: Nitowikwe
Although we haven’t established a crafter or allied society so far, we’ve introduced our first NPC for custom deliveries: Nitowikwe, a female Hrothgar named Shaaloani. Disciples of land and hand can interact with her. Completing her requests will earn you rewards such as Orange Scrips and more.
Additional Role Quests
If you’re excited about the 7.0 role quests, developers have hinted at more role quests arriving with update 7.1. However, it’s important to note that you must finish all the earlier ones to access this new one.
Additional Wachumeqimeqi Quests
As a gamer, I’d say, “Just like me when I was grinding for loot, gatherers and crafters can expect new missions stemming from Wachumeqimeqi deliveries in Tulliyollal. And similar to how I had to finish previous quests to unlock these, it’s probably a given that you’ll need to complete the preceding tasks in the series. This seems to be wrapping up the zone storyline.
Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures
In Dawntrail, the Hildibrand saga resumes, stretching far beyond its previous limits. This humorous and absurd side story, associated with the relics in Endwalker, may not recur this time, so you’re welcome to embark on it if you wish!
New Game Support for 7.0
If you’re interested in revisiting the Dawntrail Main Story Quest, you’ll have the chance with Patch 7.1. Although duty support has been incorporated into Dawntrail earlier, Patch 7.1 will mark the beginning of gradually enhancing support for additional dungeons not tied to the Main Story Quest as well.
Hall of the Novice Revamp
In update 7.1, the Novice Hall, designed for beginners, undergoes significant modifications. Instead of generic training, it now offers specialized lessons on mechanics such as stacking, spreading, and tank-busting. This adjustment aims to simplify the learning process for novices, helping them grasp the game more easily. Unlockable at level 49, this updated tutorial should provide a clear route for newcomers to master the game.
PvP Updates
significant alterations are on the horizon for Player versus Player (PvP) action execution and hit detection. Additionally, numerous PvP roles are set to have their actions modified or fine-tuned. Developers have hinted at substantial updates for Frontlines arriving with patch 7.2.
New Dungeon: Yuweyawata Field Station
In update 7.1, we’ve unveiled a fresh, high-tech facility named Yuweyawata Field Station that seems to play a role in the ongoing narrative.
New Alliance Raid: Jeuno: The First Walk
In the gaming world, the initial alliance raid for Dawntrail is known as “The First Journey of Jeuno”. This alliance raid shares similarities with Final Fantasy XI, implying that players who have experienced that game are likely to recognize the settings and aesthetics of this particular raid.
New Trial: The Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden
In line with tradition, the challenging mode for Dawntrail is set to be introduced in update 7.1. The battle with Sphene’s Burden will feature heightened difficulty compared to the normal encounter. Notably, conquering this extreme version will reward a mount and either weapons or accessories as loot.
New Unreal Trial: The Jade Stoa (Unreal)
Building upon the Unreal difficulty encounters introduced in Endwalker, we’re now bringing you Stormblood trials as Unreal versions for Dawntrail. Essentially, this means a harder variant of the trial tailored for level 100 characters. These Unreal trials will offer Faux Hollow points, which can be exchanged for a variety of cosmetic rewards.
New Chaotic Alliance Raid
In Dawntrail, a fresh type of content called “The Chaotic Alliance Raid” has been introduced. Unlike traditional Alliance Raids, this 24-player challenge promises to be significantly tougher. As per the developers, it’s expected to match the intensity of the extremes, but with three alliances composed of eight players each. The inaugural raid in the Chaotic Alliance series is “The Cloud of Darkness,” and from its description, it already appears formidable.
New Ultimate: Future’s Rewritten Ultimate
Fatebreaker and the Oracle of Darkness.
Doman Mahjong Updates
It looks like Doman Mahjong is set for an upgrade in patch 7.1! This update will feature voiced responses and commentary from the Scions, which could encourage more players to interact with the content and challenge each other in a friendly round of Mahjong.
Housing Updates
In Patch 7.1, housing is undergoing a significant renovation. After the update, players can choose interior designs from various residential districts, regardless of their plot’s location. Furthermore, new interior designs will also be introduced. Additionally, developers have hinted at future options to modify the size of your house, but this will come at a cost in Gil.
