NAVI Escapes FaZe Onslaught For Spot in Grand Final | BLAST Fall Final

As a seasoned gamer with decades of CS:GO under my belt, I must say that this match between NAVI and FaZe Clan was nothing short of thrilling. The back-and-forth action on Inferno was reminiscent of the old days when a single round could swing the entire game. Karrigan’s comeback was nothing short of legendary, but in the end, iM’s prowess proved too much for FaZe Clan to handle.

Following their EPL S20 victory, NAVI continued their momentum at the BLAST Fall Final 2024, outplaying Team Falcons and sweeping past G2 Esports in Group A to secure a place in the semifinals. FaZe Clan showed some uncertainty leading up to the event, but managed to catch Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) fans off guard by overpowering Team Liquid in the playoffs, earning themselves a spot in the semifinal against NAVI.

As a gaming enthusiast, let me recount my thrilling experience of the epic semi-final showdown between NAVI and FaZe Clan held at the Forum Copenhagen. Here’s the lowdown on this nail-biting encounter in my own words:

NAVI vs. FaZe Clan Map 1 (Inferno)

On Inferno map, the team led by Finn “karrigan” Andersen on FaZe Clan’s side as attackers won the initial Pistol Round but couldn’t capitalize on their second attempt. This opening failure allowed NAVI to take control and score five consecutive rounds, pushing their lead to 5-1 early in the match. Romanian player Mihai “iM” Ivan from NAVI was particularly impressive, managing four kills in the fifth round alone.

After three consecutive wins due to a well-executed strategy in the 7th round, FaZe Clan found themselves trailing 4-8 on Inferno. In response, NAVI managed to score three rounds consecutively, taking a commanding lead.

In the mid-game swap, we found ourselves with an advantage as NAVI took the Pistol Round against FaZe Clan’s CT side, pushing us ahead significantly to a 10-4 lead, leaving FaZe Clan in a tough spot. But as “broky” Saukants from FaZe Clan masterfully utilized his Big Green, they began to inch closer, nibbling away at our economy bit by bit.

I, as an ardent fan, witnessed the astounding resurgence by Finn “Karrigan” Andersen’s team. They miraculously scored nine consecutive rounds (four of them being defuses), leaving Navi in a state of shock and securing an exhilarating victory with a score of 13-10 on Inferno.

NAVI vs. FaZe Clan Map 2 (Ancient)

Initially, events on NAVI’s ancient map didn’t go according to plan for Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen and his team, as FaZe Clan claimed the initial Pistol Round on the Counter-Terrorist side and then seized a three-round winning streak.

As I sat there, gaming it up, my team, NAVI, fought back in the 4th round, but FaZe Clan swiftly countered with wins in the 5th and 6th rounds, pushing them to a strong 5-1 lead early on. However, Aleksib pulled off some brilliant strategies that kept us in the game, scoring three bomb plants and round victories consecutively before FaZe responded with another trio of their own. By the end of the first half on Ancient, FaZe Clan had a 8-4 advantage over us.

Switching sides, it appeared that FaZe Clan had taken the early lead, securing the Pistol Round and converting on their T side. However, I found myself in awe as NAVI orchestrated an incredible comeback, winning eight rounds consecutively to put themselves just one more round away from victory. FaZe Clan managed to grab a round back in the 23rd, but it was then that w0nderful, their Ukrainian AWPer, delivered a stunning 2v1 clutch to thwart overtime and push us into a third and decisive map.

NAVI vs. FaZe Clan Map 3 ( Anubis)

As NAVI advanced to their third and concluding map, Anubis, many spectators anticipated victory due to its being one of their strongest battlegrounds. True to form, NAVI excelled, securing the Pistol round and then amassing an impressive streak on the offensive side during the first half, culminating in a nearly unbeatable 10-2 lead.

After changing positions, NAVI took advantage of their new position and went on to win the Pistol round and the following two rounds in quick succession. This swift offensive left FaZe Clan struggling, resulting in a decisive 13-2 victory for NAVI on Anubis. Consequently, this gave NAVI a commanding 2-1 lead in the series.
