As a lifelong CS:GO fanatic who has witnessed countless epic moments, I must say that Nikola “NiKo” Kovač’s table-punching antics at the BLAST Fall Final 2024 event will undoubtedly go down as one of my favorites. The raw emotion and passion he displayed in his attempt to clutch an ace against Vitality was truly captivating, even if it did end in a moment of frustration.
Nikola “NiKo” Kovač is widely recognized as the premier rifler in contemporary Counter-Strike, a true veteran of the gaming world, and one of the select few players who consistently rank among the top five. Moreover, he often shows his emotions openly, and during the G2 Esports versus Vitality match at the BLAST Fall Final 2024 event, this became particularly evident.
In no time, you might come across numerous memes regarding the gap in Niko’s table, leaving you both amused and a tad emotional. Here’s the backstory: In a tense situation on Mirage during the third and decisive map against Vitality, Niko came very close to securing an ace clutch, which would have earned him a place in the grand final. Tragically, he missed a seemingly easy shot, giving apEX, Vitality’s leader, the chance to retaliate and eliminate Niko instead.
Niko struck his desk forcefully, creating an indentation in the shape of his fist, driven by a surge of intense emotion and irritation.
After pulling off an astounding reverse sweep against Vitality, I couldn’t resist giving NiKo a table with a hole in it as a friendly jest. The commentators are having a blast with it, and the crowd at the Forum Copenhagen is going wild for G2 like never before!

Despite some people finding this not amusing given that NiKo bled during the game, he jokingly mentioned it on stream through a clip of team communications. He views it as a source of pride, and it has evolved into an inspiring tale, as G2 successfully staged a comeback in the end.
Perhaps, it would be advantageous to have a sturdier desk set up for NiKo during the grand final match, whether it’s against NAVI or FaZe Clan.
