G2 vs. Vitality Map 1 (Anubis)

As a die-hard fan, I found myself on the edge of my seat as the action began on G2’s map selection – Anubis. In the initial pistol round, G2 managed to gain control effortlessly, even with ZywOo wielding his dualies and donning Kevlar for the following round, which he strategically held back.

Initially, Team Vitality’s aggressive force buy move paid off, thanks to Dan “apEX” Madesclaire’s leadership that resulted in a tie at 1-1. Later, Vitality took a 3-1 lead, but G2 retaliated with three consecutive victories following the first complete gun round. However, Vitality bounced back with a strong round to even the score at 4-4.

On the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) map called CT side, Vitality had taken a 7-5 advantage, leaving G2 Esports struggling due to the present meta favoring Anubis for the attacking team.

When teams changed positions, G2 Esports found themselves facing an uphill battle on the defensive side of the map, with Team Vitality not giving them any leeway, expanding their advantage to a 10-5 scoreline in the early stages.

In the 16th round, G2 Esports started playing aggressively as Nikola “NiKo” Kovač racked up kills and weakened Vitality’s financial resources. Faced with limited funds, Vitality attempted a high-risk buy, which surprisingly worked out in their favor, reducing the score to 11-6. Quickly reacting, G2 took advantage of the next round, making the Anubis map evenly matched.

G2 Esports successfully accumulated a series of rounds, narrowing the lead held by Vitality down to just 11-9.

In the 21st round, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut swiftly executed a stunning double kill, propelling Team Vitality to the decisive point on the map and securing a 12-9 advantage. Though G2 made a valiant comeback in the 22nd round, Team Vitality ultimately clinched the victory on Anubis, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

G2 vs. Vitality Map 2 (Dust2)

On the map for Dust2 that Vitality selected, they swiftly seized the A site and had an efficient Pistol Round, even managing to plant a bomb. This led to Vitality gaining another bomb plant against G2’s offensive, creating a substantial economic edge and forcing G2 back onto pistols.

Initially on Dust2, Team Vitality maintained a strong advantage with scores of 3-0 against G2, but G2 started to fight back in the fourth round and established a momentum, eventually drawing level at 3-3. However, Team Vitality managed to regain one point.

Initially, Dust2 was a tight contest, as both teams exchanged attacks and depleted their resources repeatedly. However, G2 narrowly gained an advantage, and when the first half came to a close, they held a slight lead of 7-5.

In the heat of the second half on Dust2, I found myself on the T side with G2. We stormed the B site only to be brutally overwhelmed – Vitality swiftly capitalized on our Pistol Round blunder and followed it up with a tactical move that leveled the score at 7-7.

In the 15th round, Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, G2’s Polish team leader, executed an impressive double kill to aid his team in winning the round and gaining a 8-7 advantage over their opponents. This was further boosted by a well-executed play from Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov. Faced with this deficit, Vitality were forced to economize, allowing G2 to extend their lead to 10-7, despite some remarkable performances from William “mezii” Merriman.

In round 18, Vitality found themselves retreating, their spirits momentarily dampened as G2 Esports seized control of B, increasing their lead to 11-7. Then, in round 19, m0NESY started things off with a double kill, pushing G2 closer to victory on Dust2. Eventually, they secured the A site for a 13-7 win, necessitating a third and decisive map.

G2 vs. Vitality Map 3 (Mirage)

On the map Mirage, G2 initiated with a victory in the Pistol Round on the CT side, but Vitality attempted a force buy and tied it up at 1-1 early in the game. This move prompted G2 to follow suit with their own force buy, which Vitality successfully thwarted and then capitalized on. They continued this strategy, pushing ahead against G2 to establish a 4-1 lead.

In the sixth round, I managed to score one point for my team, G2, narrowing the gap against Vitality. This move seemed to hurt their CT economy a bit. In response, Vitality came back hard, and it was all thanks to Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut who racked up an impressive 15 kills in just seven rounds. Later, a double AWP setup from our team put us on the offensive again, really ramping up the pressure on Vitality.

As Mirage’s initial phase came to an end, G2 Esports held a 7-5 advantage. In a pivotal moment, Snax managed a clutch play with a 2 versus 1 situation, utilizing the AWP effectively.

As the teams changed positions, G2 Esports aggressively moved towards the B site but were met with a strong counterattack. Following their successful first round, Vitality managed another victory, bringing the match score to 7-7.

In the 16th round, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač came incredibly close to executing an outstanding clutch of the year, managing four kills and planting the bomb. However, he fell just short of landing a crucial shot against apEX. At this point, Vitality was slightly ahead with a score of 9-7. In his excitement, NiKo hit the table so forcefully that there was a hole near his keyboard, and he cut his hand slightly.

In some intense and tight matches, Vitality gained a 10-8 advantage, and in the 19th round, G2 attempted a forced buy despite their struggling economy. Regrettably for G2 Esports supporters, they failed to execute an A site attack successfully, allowing Vitality to score another point. In response, G2 made another attempt at the A site in the following round, and this time, they succeeded.

21st round saw Vitality locating a map spot, but G2 thwarted them in the following round and eventually won due to Vitality’s full economy adjustment. In the 24th round, G2 employed a dual AWP strategy on the attacking side, with m0NESY and Snax. The entire G2 team executed a stunning attack on A-site as spectators roared in approval, resulting in an overtime situation with a 12-12 scoreline.

Initially in overtime, G2 secured the first round on the T side. Later, Vitality managed to grab one back due to a remarkable four-kill round from Lotan “Spinx” Giladi. Subsequently, spectacular clutch plays by NiKo propelled G2 Esports ahead, ultimately dismantling Vitality, winning Mirage 16-14, and achieving a reverse sweep for a 2-1 victory.
