Fender And Capcom Team Up For $2,000 Monster Hunter Guitar

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of unique and extravagant gaming merchandise. However, the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster from Capcom and Fender takes the cake! At $2,000, it’s a bit steep for my wallet, but let’s face it, I wouldn’t dare play a lick on that bad boy anyway. I’d be too afraid to scratch that gorgeous Rathalos design!

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but be excited about Capcom’s latest collaboration! In partnership with Fender, they’re bringing us the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster, set to hit the market next year. This eye-catching guitar is sure to turn heads and make a bold statement in any collection.

On Fender’s online store for $2,000, you can find the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster, a guitar crafted to honor the franchise’s two-decade milestone. The design of this guitar aims to embody the “majestic aura” of Rathalos, noticeable not just on its body but also on the rosewood fretboard. It also boasts a (synthetic) tortoiseshell pickguard, sparking ongoing debates about whether dinosaurs were more closely related to reptiles or avian species.

This guitar shares many characteristics with a Fender Telecaster Custom. For instance, it has a humbucker pickup at the neck position and a single-coil pickup at the bridge. The nut is crafted from bone, although it’s not sourced from any monster you might encounter in a video game. A special 20th-anniversary logo adorns the neckplate, and like some popular games, this guitar is produced in Japan. This makes it quite unusual, as most Fenders are manufactured either in California or Mexico.

On February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. Given the massive success of Monster Hunter World from Capcom, the anticipation is definitely running high.
