How the Wolfs ending perfectly sets up a sequel

As a seasoned gamer who’s been around the block a few times, I must say that “Wolfs” has certainly piqued my interest. The chemistry between George Clooney and Brad Pitt is reminiscent of their iconic roles together in “Ocean’s Eleven”. But what really caught my attention was the cliffhanger ending!

Apple TV+’s comedy reunites George Clooney and Brad Pitt after a 16-year gap, but the conclusion of “The Wolves” paves the way for another sequel to bring them together again.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt convincingly wear black leather and exchange harsh words in the latest Jon Watts comedy, “Wolves,” now streaming on Apple TV+. However, this doesn’t imply that their thrilling escapades have come to an end.

In truth, work has begun on making another installment of the action movie. Whether this decision proves wise or not is still uncertain (check out our Wolf’s review to learn our thoughts on the latest flick), but one thing is certain: there are definite directions for a sequel to explore.

Let’s delve into the conclusion of “The Wolf’s Tale,” along with updates on any subsequent installments, and speculations about potential future developments for Margaret and her associates. (Be advised: major spoilers are imminent!)

Wolfs ending explained

At last, the situation resolves with Kid safely back home following the trio’s action of returning the illicit substances to their original source.

In spite of the dramatic fallout, it appears that everything concluded positively for Margaret’s husband (George Clooney), Pam’s husband (Brad Pitt), and Kid (Austin Abrams). After an extremely lengthy and eventful night, Kid returned home.

The two wolves bring him ashore and then depart for breakfast, seemingly reaching an understanding following their joint experience. However, once they’ve finished eating, Pam’s companion discloses what Pam (Frances McDormand) had told him earlier, and surprisingly enough, it was exactly the same as what Margaret (Amy Ryan) said to him.

This means their forced partnership was no accident, and both men were hired by the same “guy.”

It doesn’t take long for them to figure out that the Man was aware of the drugs situation. (Coincidentally, this is why a camera was set up in the hotel room – it was there so the Man could monitor who knew what.) Since everyone else believed Kid was deceased, he decided to send two of his associates for the exchange instead.

In the heat of my escape from Pam’s henchman through Chinatown, I stumbled upon a game-changing secret – the kid was still alive! With this newfound information, I quickly alerted Dimitri about it. That’s why, when Dimitri (Zlatko Burić) unexpectedly crossed paths with Margaret’s man and Pam’s man, he spared them both. Unfortunately, his bodyguard wasn’t privy to my tip-off.

It was unlikely that he believed they’d use Kid for the drug drop, and it would have ended up as an ambush for those two men instead. However, the drug drop turned into a gun battle, which suggests they both would have met with tragedy. (“It seemed we were heading towards trouble.”)

It seemed Legrange’s goal was to transport the ill-gotten drugs, hoping that the Albanians would wage war against him as a result. Once his competitors were eliminated, the city would fall silent.

Upon recognizing their predicament, they peer out the window and spot a row of men armed with weapons advancing towards them. They’ve been discovered. In a rush, they duck beneath the window, hastily arming their pistols and readying themselves for battle. It’s only after this that they introduce themselves: Jack is Margaret’s companion, while Nick belongs to Pam.

The film ends with both men jumping up and shooting through the window.

There’s already a Wolfs sequel in development

Apple TV+ announced on August 7 that Jon Watts would be returning to write a sequel to Wolfs.

Approximately a month prior to its release, the announcement was made about Wolf’s premiere. However, the streamer didn’t explicitly confirm if George Clooney and Brad Pitt would reprise their roles as the gruff fixers. Nonetheless, Deadline reported that these stars were expected to be part of the project.

Matt Dentler, head of Apple Original Films, described Apple TV+ as a platform that showcases top-tier entertainment with films like ‘Wolfs’, which are big cinematic events,” he stated.

George and Brad’s fantastic on-screen dynamic, skillfully guided by director Jon Watts, creates a captivating mix of humor, action, and emotion in the film, Wolfs. The result is an incredibly enjoyable movie that leaves viewers eagerly anticipating more.

By first premiering the film in cinemas before streaming it on Apple TV+, we can offer viewers the ideal blend of experiences, and we’re thrilled to watch audiences enjoy the movie as we collaborate with Jon for the sequel.

What could Wolfs 2 be about?

The conclusion of “The Wolf” leaves an intriguing enigma for the next installment: “Who is the mysterious mastermind pulling the strings for Clooney and Pitt’s operatives, and what was his motive for eliminating them?”

The closing scene implies a hierarchical structure within the fixing operation that Margaret and Pam’s associates are part of. Furthermore, it’s apparent that the individual who summoned them was trying to orchestrate their demise, and when that didn’t work, he dispatched gunmen to carry out the attack at the diner during breakfast time.

If a sequel featuring Clooney and Pitt is already in the works, then it’s safe to infer that they managed to escape the restaurant unscathed. Therefore, to avoid elimination, they might have to neutralize the threat posed by the person above them, possibly by killing him.

Additionally, we must handle the aftermath caused by the surprise drug raid, as they claim it could bring the whole city to a standstill.

If they truly aim for longevity, these two characters will need to learn how to cooperate effectively with each other.

It seems like they’ll need to take action if they are determined to escape from the predicament they find themselves in, as there appears to be a bounty or threat against them.

Wolfs is available to stream on Apple TV+ now.
