As a huge Disney fan, I’m so excited! After 25 years, they’re finally making a sequel to Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and the first look is incredible. Atlantis is a really special movie – a lot of us consider it one of Disney’s most unique and best films. It’s a shame it didn’t do well in theaters, because Disney pretty much forgot about it since then. The only other attempt to expand the story was a TV show pilot that never went anywhere.
Many fans believe Atlantis: The Lost Empire doesn’t get enough recognition, but that might be changing. As the film approaches its 25th anniversary in 2026, Disney is releasing Atlantisthemed merchandise, and even more excitingly, a sequel comic book titled Atlantis: The Lost Empire — The Curse of Kurok* is coming from Papercutz.
As a huge fan of Atlantis: The Lost Empire, I’m incredibly excited! The first part of what’s coming is scheduled for release on October 13, 2026, and even with just the little bit we know so far, it looks like it’s going to be a truly amazing return to that world.
