Hoda Kotb to Exit NBC’s ‘Today’ in Early 2025

As I reflect upon Hoda Kotb‘s illustrious career and her impending departure from NBC’s “Today” show, I find myself both admiring her resilience and saddened by the prospect of losing such a beloved figure from our morning routine.

Hoda Kotb, a well-established anchor at NBC News who took over co-hosting duties on the prime-time segments of “Today” when Matt Lauer was dismissed in 2017, plans to depart the show by the end of the year, thereby creating two significant vacancies within NBC’s primary morning news program.

On Thursday’s show, Kotb expressed her wish to spend time with her two young daughters. Despite leaving in early 2025, she will still be contributing to the program afterwards.

Her shoes will be challenging to replace, as Kotb not only hosts the initial two hours of “Today” alongside Savannah Guthrie, but she is also a frequent presence during its more casual 10 a.m hour, where she co-anchors with Jenna Bush Hager and Kathie Lee Gifford.
