All Automatons in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom & how to get them

As a seasoned Zelda adventurer with countless hours spent traversing Hyrule’s verdant landscapes, I must say that the addition of Automatons to Echoes of Wisdom has truly elevated the gameplay experience. Each one offers unique abilities and strategies that can turn the tide in even the most challenging encounters.

In the game “Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom,” automatons can provide a significant advantage, particularly in combat situations where their extra damage becomes crucial. Here’s an easier-to-understand guide on how to obtain every single automaton and the requirements for doing so:

In Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the robotic allies known as Automatons are modeled after real-world foes such as Moblins and Tektites. Unlike their organic counterparts, these mechanical creatures possess distinctive abilities that make them unlike ordinary Echoes.

As a devoted fan, I’d express it like this: Some automatons pack Area-of-Effect explosives that ignite foes, while others shower you with Rupees as a reward. If you aim to bolster Zelda’s arsenal, then collecting every Automaton is the way to go!

How to unlock Automatons

Dampe, residing in a shack northeast of Hyrule Castle, crafts automatons. However, his workshop will stay shut until you manage to seal the tears in Jabul Waters and the desert known as Gerudo.

Once you complete that task, Dampe will show up in Hyrule. He’ll ask you to visit him at his workshop. After chatting with him, go to Dampe’s Studio and take on the side mission called “Explosions Galore”. This starts the Automaton questline.

How many Automatons are there?

In Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, a total of six Automatons exist. After Dampe constructs all of them, you’ll be granted the Clockwork Bangle as a reward. This handy item significantly cuts down the time required for winding up all Automatons.

Gizmol

Recipe: Ignizol + prismatic music box

To carry out this task, you should set the Ignizol item onto the platform, and hand over the Prismatic Music Box to Dampe. You can get the Prismatic Music Box by successfully finishing the Red Flag Races at Hyrule Ranch.

What does the Gizmol Automaton do?

As a fan, I can’t help but marvel at how the Gizmol automaton showers a wide area with musical notes, causing harm to any foes that cross its path. This mechanical marvel excels at overwhelming groups of enemies, but its limited mobility does make it vulnerable to attacks from all directions.

For optimal results when using the Gizimol, consider deploying it in a protective location or atop other items. This setup should help prevent it from getting damaged and increase its chances of defeating your enemies effectively.

Roboblin

Recipe: Sword Moblin Lv.3 + heirloom katana

To create the Roboblin Automaton, you’ll need to place a level three Sword Moblin on the platform and give Dampe the heirloom katana.

To acquire the ancestral sword (katana), you need to successfully finish combat trials found at the peaceful village dojo (Slumber Dojo), nestled in the western part of Kakariko Village, a tranquil settlement nearby Hyrule Castle.

What does the Roboblin Automaton do?

The Roboblin is a nimble robot designed for sword fighting, capable of dealing massive area-of-effect blows to eliminate your adversaries. In contrast to the Gizmol, the Roboblin not only moves swiftly but also actively pursues and targets enemies.

As a gamer, I’ve found that although this automaton packs a punch with its high damage output, its slow attack speed gives us an edge. It takes quite a beating before it retaliates, which makes it perfect for some tactical maneuvering. My suggestion is to approach stealthily and position the Roboblin behind your foes for a devastating surprise attack from the rear.

High-Teku Baba

Recipe: Bio Deku Baba + steel trap

As a passionate fan, I’d guide you on how to craft the High-Teku Baba: Start by journeying to the acorn expert nestled in the heart of the desert north of Gerudo Town. Once there, take up their acorn challenge under the set time limit, and if you succeed, the wise old man will bestow upon you a precious steel trap as a reward!

After gaining access to the steel trap, make your way back to the workshop, deliver the item to Dampe, and then position the Bio Deku Baba onto the platform.

What does the High-Teku Baba Automaton do?

The Giant Robot called High-Teku Babu devours its adversaries entirely with a massive mechanical jaw, ensuring not a single trace is left behind. Keep in mind that since there’s no remnant left, enemies won’t drop Rupees or monster resources after being swallowed by the robot.

It’s also important to note, that the High-Teku Baba is completely stationary. This means you’ll need to pick it up if you want it to damage your enemies. Just be careful of your position as Zelda won’t be able to easily avoid incoming attacks.

Goldfinch

Recipe: Crow + golden fan

To make the Goldfinch Automaton, you’ll first need to get the golden fan. This item is obtained from the Gerudo oasis, which is located east of Gerudo Town. You’ll need to complete a request from one of the NPCs, and they’ll reward you with the fan.

After getting the golden fan, return it to Dampe’s Studio and hand it over to him, along with the Crow Echo. Once you do this, Dampe will create the Goldfinch Automaton for you.

What does the Goldfinch Automaton do?

The Goldfinch is one of the most useful Automatons in Echoes of Wisdom. Not only does it deal damage to enemies, but every time it kills an opponent, you will be rewarded with a bounty of rupees.

As a fervent admirer, let me share that this intricate automaton not only sings melodiously but also gathers any coins in its vicinity. With a simple wind-up, it could potentially amass wealth for you in the backdrop, like a silent, mechanical benefactor.

Tocktorok

Recipe: Fire Octo + Firework

In the Elden Volcano area, you can find both the Fire Octo and Fireworks. This region lies south of Kakariko Village if you travel directly there. Notably, the Firework Echo can only be acquired once you’ve resolved the rift in Goron City. This is because resolving the rift grants access to the firework maker within Goron City.

To locate his workshop, make your way to Goron City and ascend to the second floor (on the right side) where you’ll find the shop. Once inside, he’ll assign you a mission to gather blastpowder soil. This resource can be discovered near the golden flowers that are situated straight west of Goron City.

Bring the Fire Octo and Firework to Dampe and he’ll give you the Fire Octo.

What does the Tocktorok Automaton do?

After being set in motion, the Tocktoroks will persistently bombard your adversaries with a vibrant shower of explosive stones. Although the damage isn’t extremely potent, their rapid attack rate compensates for this. It also offers an advantage by igniting enemies, which is especially beneficial when your foes are vulnerable to fire.

Techtite

Recipe: Techtite + Mothula

Tektites can be found near rivers that surround Hyrule Castle and other large water bodies. To find Mothula, go to Faron Wetlands, which lies southeast of Hyrule Castle. After acquiring both items, take them to Dampe. In return, he’ll reward you with the Techtite Automaton.

What does the Techtite Automaton do?

The Techtite Automaton uses its built-in rockets to blast into the air, delivering AoE damage to all nearby enemies. While this may sound incredibly powerful, the Techtite is the worst Automaton in the entire game.

This robot might not be ideal for your collection due to its exceptionally sluggish launch speed and vulnerability to destruction before takeoff. Instead, consider utilizing the alternative robots listed here for a smoother experience in completing your Automaton collection.

How many Automatons can you summon?

At a particular instance, only a single Automaton can be invoked. Unlike Echoes, Automatons do not require Tri energy for their invocation. Consequently, you’re able to maintain an Automaton on the battlefield together with your standard Echoes.

Performing this action will significantly boost your Damage Per Second (DPS). If you find it hard to defeat a challenging boss, your metallic allies could provide the extra help you need.

How to fix Automatons

If your robot gets damaged during battle, just pop by Dampe’s Workshop. He can fix up your mechanical pals, but it will cost you either 25, 35, or 50 Rupees, or a Monster Stone instead.

After learning the method for obtaining all Automatons in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, consider exploring ways to acquire the Lynel Echo during your gameplay.
