As a seasoned CS2 fan with years of following this electrifying scene under my belt, I must say that the Astralis vs Team Vitality match at the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 was nothing short of historic – or perhaps more accurately, infamous. The shocking absence of Alexander “br0” Bro and the sudden emergence of Casper “cadiaN” Møller as the stand-in captain left many of us scratching our heads in bewilderment.
In the initial encounter between Astralis and Team Vitality during Group B at the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024, a series of disputes took center stage. The focus shifted from the game itself as Casper “cadiaN” Møller temporarily replaced Alexander “br0” Bro, sparking debate about the circumstances leading to an “emergency sub” decision. However, it’s the outcomes that truly matter, so let’s delve into the details further down below.
To put it simply, during their first match with Astralis, cadiaN faced a crushing defeat. On the map selection of Inferno, Team Vitality played exceptionally well and achieved an impressive shutout victory of 13-0. Such a decisive win is quite unusual in high-level Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports competitions.

Following their incredible 13-0 victory, Team Vitality carried their form into the following map, Dust2. They started off by winning the first three rounds, and Astralis managed to secure one point only after that. A Technical Pause followed, momentarily disrupting their rhythm. Nevertheless, it seems that Team Vitality set a new record in CS:2 esports history by winning an impressive 16 consecutive rounds.
As a gamer, I found myself in an intense match on Dust2. We, Astralis, managed to score three rounds consecutively, tying things up at 3-3. However, Vitality regrouped and took back their lead. In the heat of battle, our players pulled off some incredible feats, with Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard being a standout example. He managed an impressive 2v1 clutch to secure the eighth round for us. It was a nail-biting moment, but we fought hard and showed signs of life.
During the BLAST Fall Final 2024 competition, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire helped Team Vitality recover, taking three rounds consecutively to reach a score of 7-4. Unfortunately, a power outage in Copenhagen caused the broadcast to halt momentarily. When play resumed, the first half concluded with Vitality leading by four points (8-4).
On the CT side of Dust2, Team Vitality started off by claiming victory in the Pistol Round and followed up effortlessly, taking their score to 10-4. Vitality continued to capitalize on their advantage, systematically defeating Astralis, ultimately winning Dust2 with a decisive 13-4 scoreline, and securing the series with a dominant 2-0 victory.
In the upcoming matchups for Group B, Team Vitality advances to take on either Team Liquid or Team Spirit in the Winner’s Contest, whereas Astralis must fight to stay alive in the following Elimination Round.
