As a gamer, I’d say: On the match, G2 Esports was the heavy favorite, but on Dust2, their map pick, they had a bit of a rocky start in the first half, ending up tied at 6-6. However, I have to hand it to FaZe Clan; they came back strong with some incredible plays. For instance, Latvian AWPer Helvijs “broky” Saukants pulled off an impressive 2v1 clutch, which really turned the tide in their favor.

In the second part of the Dust2 map on the T-side, the young AWPer Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov delivered an impressive and destructive performance. This performance quickly ended FaZe Clan’s chances with a comfortable lead, as the dust finally settled at 13-7.

On the map choice of Inferno by G2 Esports, they extended their victory run with an impressive four consecutive rounds. Yet, FaZe Clan showed remarkable resilience and began to stage a comeback, eventually leading 8-4 in the first half, playing from the CT side.

As the game progressed into its second half, when teams switched positions, FaZe Clan made it difficult for G2 Esports to find opportunities, effectively suffocating their economy. This tight control led to a dominant victory for FaZe Clan on Inferno with a score of 13-6, thus compelling a third and decisive match, Mirage.

In the game on Mirage, G2 began impressively, triumphing swiftly in the initial pistol round and converting their success, seemingly brushing off their loss on Inferno. However, FaZe Clan countered gracefully, amassing a winning streak that left G2 struggling at 7-3. Towards the end of the first half, G2 managed to regain some ground, but it was FaZe Clan who led 8-4 by the break.

In the ongoing clash against FaZe Clan on Mirage, G2 Esports snatched another pistol round while playing on the attacking (T) side, narrowing the gap in the game. With a hint of momentum now in their favor, G2 Esports delivered an astounding comeback, claiming 13 rounds to FaZe Clan’s meager one in the second half. In the end, G2 Esports emerged victorious with a scoreline of 13-9 on Mirage and a 2-1 match victory.
