As a seasoned gamer with decades of Counter-Strike under my belt, I must say that the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 Group A match between NAVI and Team Falcons was nothing short of exhilarating. The skill on display from both teams was truly awe-inspiring, especially from the MVPs w0nderful and jL who showcased some jaw-dropping plays that will undoubtedly go down in CS2 history.
To kick off the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 Group A, powerhouse team NAVI met up with Team Falcons. Following their triumph in ESL Pro League Season 20, NAVI entered as the highest-ranked Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports squad at the tournament’s onset in Copenhagen. Conversely, Team Falcons held a 15th place ranking.

On the Anubis map selection of Team Falcons, NAVI established a strong early impact, leading 7-5 in the initial half. They further strengthened their position on the CT side by securing a dominating 6-0 run to conclude the round with a resounding 13-5 victory.
One standout moment during the match between Anubis that I particularly enjoy is when player Ihor “wonderful” Zhdanov managed to score five kills with just one round – an incredible feat against Team Falcons’ half-buy in the 15th round. Interestingly, wonderful was using an M4A1 instead of his usual AWPer role, as shown below.
As a gamer, I found myself on Ancient’s map with Team Falcons. After a slow start, we managed to grab a decent lead of 7-5 on the CT side. This was quite an accomplishment considering our sluggish beginning. However, NAVI broke their win streak in the next round and began to stage a powerful comeback in the 14th round.
In the 18th round of Ancient, NAVI overcame a 5 vs 3 disadvantage to disarm the bomb during a counter-attack, equalizing the game at 9-9. After this, NAVI showcased exceptional teamwork and individual skill on the CT side, eventually winning the match 13-10, beating Team Falcons 2-0 in the process.
Among the many memorable moments from Ancient times that I cherish, none compares to Justinas “jL” Lekavičius’ remarkable performance during the 20th round. In a tight spot where NAVI found themselves on the defensive in a 4v2 situation, jL stepped up and scored an astounding four kills. What made this achievement even more noteworthy was that he used two TEC-9 kills and two M4A1 kills to secure the victory, adding an extra layer of impressiveness to his play.
With their victory, NAVI moves forward to compete in the Deciding Match within Group A. They will play against either G2 Esports or FaZe Clan in this round. Meanwhile, Team Falcons still have an opportunity to continue in the tournament, as they’ll take on the losing team from the G2 Esports vs FaZe Clash on September 26, 2024, in a three-game series that determines elimination.
