What is The World’s Game? – FC 26’s new “World Cup” Mode.
If you follow gaming news, you probably know that EA Sports and FIFA ended their long-standing partnership. After 30 years, EA launched FC, a new game with official clubs, leagues, players, and stadiums. This change left many wondering how the game would handle the World Cup.
EA Sports has included a World Cup-style mode in their game, now called The World’s Game. You can play as any of the 53 officially licensed national teams in a 48-team tournament that mirrors the real World Cup. The game follows the actual tournament format: three group stage matches for each team, leading into a 32-team knockout round.
This update also includes the new teams in modes like Kick Off. Plus, we’re releasing fresh content for Ultimate Team to mark the occasion.
This covers all the officially licensed national teams you can play with in EA FC 26’s ‘The World’s Game’ mode. Interestingly, the last dedicated World Cup video game came out in 2014 (FIFA World Cup Brazil). After that, the World Cup was only available as downloadable content for FIFA 18 and FIFA 23. This is also the first EA Sports football game that doesn’t feature a World Cup title.
