As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the announcement of the Lunar Remastered Collection has stirred a wave of nostalgia within me. The Lunar series was a staple in my childhood and brought countless hours of joy as I navigated its intricate storylines and captivating worlds.
In September 2024, during State of Play, it was unveiled that a fresh remastered collection of the beloved Japanese RPG series Lunar is on its way. This collection will henceforth be called the “Lunar Remastered Collection.” GungHo plans to distribute this worldwide release in Spring 2025.
On PlayStation.Blog, GungHo’s Asca Akiyama has shared a post detailing the upcoming remasters of the Lunar series. The collection will primarily feature the two major Lunar installments: Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. These specific titles are being remastered from their enhanced versions on Sega Saturn and PlayStation, which were derived from the original releases on Sega CD.
Following State of Play, GungHo shared through their official X account that Lunar Remastered Collection will additionally launch on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC (Steam), in addition to PlayStation 5 and 4. The game is also set to release on these platforms. To promote this, they’ve uploaded the official trailer featuring multiple platforms onto their YouTube channel.
