As a seasoned samurai and avid fan of Sucker Punch productions, I can barely contain my excitement for the upcoming sequel to Ghost of Tsushima! Four years have passed since Jin Sakai graced our screens with his heroic journey, and now it’s time for another samurai to take center stage in the mystical land of Yotei.
At Sony’s September 2024 State of Play event, it was officially announced that a follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima is in the works, titled Ghost of Yotei.
Four years after Jin Sakai’s initial appearance, Sucker Punch has announced plans for another story featuring a new samurai as the central character. In other words, a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima is in development, and we caught our first glimpse during Sony’s State of Play event.
In contrast, while the initial game was set on the main island of Tsushima, and an expansion sent us to Iki island, the upcoming sequel takes us to location x.
Originating from Sony’s in-house PlayStation studio, Sucker Punch Production is primarily recognized for their contributions to the Infamous series and Sly Cooper games. Following suit with Sony’s pattern of developing new intellectual properties, Ghost has also emerged as a standalone franchise within the Sony family.
