Hell is Us Gameplay Trailer Revealed During PlayStation State of Play

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for immersive narratives and challenging gameplay, I can barely contain my excitement for NACON’s upcoming masterpiece, Hell is Us! Having traversed countless open-world landscapes in games like Death Stranding and Dark Souls, the tantalizing blend of these two beloved titles has me eagerly awaiting its release.

NACON recently unveiled a thrilling new gameplay trailer for their forthcoming title, Hell is Us, which they’ve created using Unreal Engine 5. Undoubtedly, enthusiasts of Death Stranding and Dark Souls will undoubtedly discover aspects to appreciate in the action-adventure being developed by Rogue Factor.

In a semi-open world ravaged by internal conflict, the game “Hell is Us” tells the story of a protagonist traversing a land scarred by an unexplained catastrophe, releasing supernatural monsters beyond the grasp of contemporary weaponry. Equipped with an ancient sword and a reliable drone, players must forge a route through fearsome chimeras as they uncover the truth behind their emergence and the disaster that has transformed the area.

One distinctive aspect that the creators have spotlighted is doing away with conventional map, directional markers, or quest indicators; a change that feels quite invigorating. Instead, players will mainly depend on their intuition to traverse the game world. The developers claim this method will offer a one-of-a-kind gaming experience, focusing on imaginative narratives and level construction, potentially encouraging more self-directed exploration.

Visually, Hell is Us looks like it shares a lot of similarities with Death Stranding (at least aesthetically), but the actual gameplay looks to be leaning more on the side of Dark Souls.

Initially planned for a 2023 launch, the game “Hell is Us” is now anticipated to make its first appearance sometime in 2025 instead.
